Sony PS-LX250H TurntableStrengths: Sony quality, easy to set up and easy to use. Weakness: Audio cables are a little short. The set up instructions were easy to follow to get the turntable up and running. I have it hooked up to a Bose Wave Radio and the records sound fantastic. It comes with a high quality diamond tipped needle. It has a preamp for the phono outputs which makes it very convenient. I could even record the records to CD if I wanted. Overall I am very impressed with this turntable and would recommend it...

SONY TurntableStrengths: Value for money, easy to set up, great quality Weakness: None I had a huge collection of 33 1/3 records and my old turntable broke down, I did not want to spend too much on a new turntable as I rarely use. After doing some research, I found this turntable to be the most ideal turntable for my needs. Though this turntable is not too fancy, it has a built-in amp and the functionality meets my needs. I would recommend this turntable to one and all.

Sony PS-LX250H TurntableStrengths: Built in pre-amp, ease of use, automatic shut-off. Weakness: No 78! and an extremely short audio cord which is hard wired. We bought this for my son who has just discovered the music of the 60's and 70's. We've been hearing all our old records and they sound good. Next step is to connect it to the PC's sound card and convert them to MP3s and/or CDs. Very nice all the way around plus a great price.

Sony PS-LX250H TurntableStrengths: Good price, built-in preamp Weakness: none I needed a new turntable to transcribe my 33-1/3 record album collection to CD. My 25-year old turntable had died and I didn't want to spend a lot for this one-time project. This turntable met my requiements. Nothing fancy, but able to do the job. A nice feature is the built-in pre-amplifier. A necessity as modern tuner/amps do *not* have a phono-input.

Sony PS-LX250H TurntableStrengths: cheap, good sound, easy to use Weakness: short cable, no tonearm adjustment I bought this a coupla days ago and am satisfied with the perfrmance of the unit, I had to tweak the tracking mass of the tonearm cause it is higher than normal, I did this by glueing 3 quarters and one dime to the back of the tonearm so as to counter the stylus weight, this seems to work fine for me, although id recommend experimenting with how many coins you need. Good luck

Good Value Turntable to Enjoy Those Old Records!Strengths: Easy to use, easy to set up, reasonable price point. Weakness: Does not play 78 rpm records. If you're super picky about your sound setup, you might want to choose a more premium turntable. However, for the majority of users who simply want an inexpensive way to add a turntable to their home theater setup for casual listening, this model is perfect. It's small, simple to set up, and inexpensive.

Sony Model PSLX250H SystemStrengths: User friendly, fully automatic, good turntable for the lowest price you can find. Weakness: None so far. I hear some issue with short the connection; but I had no problem with this. Probably all my units are located on the rack. I had this turn table about 3 weeks now. I think this is the best turn table for the lowest price you can find. I still have some old records. I will record them to digital format. I had MP3, IPOD but still keep the turn table just for the fun and sentimental of it. The sound quality is excellent. I would give a plus and recommend to purchase this turn table.

Gets the job doneStrengths: Simple to use, fast setup, inexpensive Weakness: Not the sturdiest turntable I basically was looking to replace a broken turntable that I used to use every so often, and all recommendations I've read pointed to this Sony turntable. Setup was straightforward, and I was playing my old records within a matter of minutes. Nothing particularly remarkable about this turntable - it sounds fine and is easy to use. Maybe if I were more of an audiophile I would have gone with a...

lasted about a year and diedStrengths: made good .wav files; pre amp Weakness: short life after somewhat over a year of light use and vrey little movement over about 4 feet of desk area, it died. The motor gets very warm, but does not turn. This is a shorter lifespan than I expected. I will try a different brand next. (A fairly high end Sony dual cassette deck also had a short life with light use.)

Sony PS-LX250H Turntable
Strengths: Ease of use. No need to purchase separate transformer for hi-fi receiver.
Weakness: Short cable. No speed adjustment.
For the money, the Sony PSLX250H provide a lot of bang for the buck. However, this player is best suited for casual listening of old LP records. This would not be a good choice for DJ'ing or for audiophile listening. The construction is solid but mostly plastic. The best feature is the ability to plug it into modern receivers without having to buy a $30-40 transformer. The RCA cable should be...
