Sony MZ-NH900B Hi-MD Walkman BlackStrengths: Mic in, line in, line out, long record/play time. Good alternative to expensive multitrack and DAT recorders. Comes with a 1GB Hi-MD disc. Backward compatible with original MD discs. Weakness: No backlit LCD on the main unit, backlight only on the remote control LCD. Average sounding headphones. After using a portable cassette voice recorder for recording piano recitals my parents wanted something that sounds professional/real for under $350 including the mic. Portable multitrack recorders and DAT recorders easily surpass $350, not to mention the cost of a mic. After much reading, I decided on the MZ-NH900. Sony MZ-NH900B Hi-MD Walkman BlackStrengths: It can do alot of different things Weakness: It's very hard to figure out how to get it to do them! I am gravely dissapointed. I had used a borrowed Sharp mini-disc and also a borrowed Sony mini disc, for several days at a time. therefore, it was with great excitement, and VERY hard earned money that I purchased the MZ-NH900 after alot of research on the web, and talking to Sony personel.
