It is the tale of a magical kingdom appropriately named Fantasia, since it is a world born of human fantasies. However, as humanity loses faith in the power of imagination, the once-thriving Fantasia is being destroyed by great storms of Nothingness. Dangerously ill herself, Fantasia's youthful empress (Tami Stronach) sends the young warrior Atreju (Noah Hathaway) on a quest to find a cure for the kingdom. After encountering flying dragons, swamp monsters and a vast assortment of other strange creatures, the young hero discovers that only a human boy can save Fantasia, at which point Bastian is drawn, literally, into the pages of the story. Warner Brothers The Neverending StoryThey don't make kids films like they used to. This was a stunning film. Excellent plot where a mere child finds a book entitled "The Never Ending Story" - You follow the story with him. The key force of destruction in this tale is "the Nothing" literally non-existence or the lack of imagination. The world in which "The Neverending Story" takes place, is Fantasia; a conglomerate universe composed...

Warner Brothers The Neverending StoryThey don't make kids films like they used to, thank god! This was a stunning film. Stunningly and mind-numbingly bad. Excellent plot were a mere child finds a book and wrecks an entire movie. The key force of destruction in this movie is "the Nothing", which is about all this trach is, nothing.

Warner Brothers The Neverending StoryThis movie is sometimes overlooked but it has all the charm and intelligence of The Princess Bride. Both are fine films that the entire family can enjoy. The ending falters when compared to the bulk of the movie but not enough to lower the rating. Anyone with young kids should find this to be worth the rental price or dvd purchase.

Warner Brothers The Neverending StoryI have loved this movie since I was a child. The imagination of it was on such a grand scale that it just entranced me. The characters, the effects, the wonderful storyline- all of it were so unique for its time period. Even better is the book by Michael Ende. If you enjoy the film, you're sure to love the longer, in-depth, original book version.
