DO NOT BUY DIRECT FROM SONY. I ordered a laptop online. Their site said it would ship in 3 days. 1 week later, it still showed as "in progress". I sat on on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes. The next day was 50 minutes on hold. Next day 94 minutes on hold. Never got a person. I tried to cancel the order via e-mail and was told to use the 1-800 number. I gave up and ordered it somewhere else. Total time on hold to get status then cancel was 16 hours 20 minutes. Horrible Experience !
DO NOT ORDER FROM SONY STYLE. I ordered a new Vaio laptop using the 800 line and paid by credit card. I received a confirmation, order number and ship date by email. When the computer never arrived when promised, I checked the web site tracking area only to learn the order was suddenly 'cancelled.' After waiting 30 minutes on hold for CS, I was told the item was, days after ordering, 'now out of stock.' Worst of all, they never contacted me to tell me, I had to investigate for myself.AVOID SONY!
Pay full list price, wait an hour to get through to customer service, and hope that you don't need to send something back.
I ordered a $1600 computer which arrived damaged, I had to send it back and wait for over a month to get my money credited back to my account.
Save some money and buy it at a retailer, you'll be happier!
