Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Easy installation and non-intrusive. Weakness: None noted. I switched satellite systems. My old system provided an infra red remote so that I only needed one receiver, and could still change channels on other TVs in other rooms. My new satellite system did not provide such a remote and encouraged you to buy a receiver for each and every TV at a cost of $5 per month. The Terk Leapfrog remote control extender solved my problem: one receiver and two TVs in different rooms. Now I can change channels on my bedroom TV from the receiver in my den - just point the remote at the extender next to my second TV (the other extender is placed near my receiver). Problem solved cheaply. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Easy to set up, did the job I wanted. Weakness: No real weaknesses that I can see. Maybe a little larger than I would like, but not an issue. The device does its job, I am only using it for about 40 feet of distance, so I don't know if the 150ft range advertized will work. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Stylish product, Plug and Play easy, Reliable range Weakness: Unit is somewhat large I bought this product to controll my home theater and my XM stero from my bedroom. It was the best priced unit and I have not been disapointed with the performance. It really is a convient item to have, espescially if you have satelite tv with only one tuner. It has brought all new value to a home theather system that was loosing a little luster! 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: works flawlessly according to advertised specifications Weakness: none I purchased the Terk Leap Frog remote extender to use in my family room where my receiver, vcr, and dvd players are hidden inside a wooden cabinet to keep my young son out. I must say that I have been absolutely thrilled with the performance of the unit. 94% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Works as advertised. Weakness: No separate sender units for sale. I set up a central video system based on my TIVO with three TVs in different rooms hooked up to the TIVO. I used two LFIRX to control the TIVO in the two rooms where TIVO is not. One of them is on the second floor. Works absolutely great! Saved myself a bundle in monthly satellite receivers rental. The only bad thing is that they only have standalone receivers for sale but not standalone senders so now I have an extra receiver. 86% of readers found this review helpful. Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Works flawlessly Includes plug in adapters or takes batteries Weakness: none My wife was furious that our Dish Network wanted to charge us a bundle for a second unit upstairs just to be able to change the channel on the TV. Meanwhile all new subscribers get a 3 room system free. Talk about a screw job. This little baby does all we need it to do and I don't have to hear the cursing! Merry Christmas to me! 80% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Works great! Even through floors and walls. Weakness: None My husband bought one to control the satellite receiver in another room. It works great and saves us the monthly rental fee. The wired IR extender allows the base unit to be hidden behind the TV in the other room. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Nice looking and has an additional small remote extender Weakness: Needs to point extender directly at electronic component I bought this so I can control my projector which is right on top of my head facing my screen and my electronic components which are also facing my screen. I place the Leapfrog receiver on top of my center speaker so I can point my remote control directly at it. Then I place the Leapfrog transmitter also on top of the center speaker so it will be facing my projector. I have to tilt it up a little bit by placing something underneath it so it will face the projector. I was expecting the extender to have a larger transmission cone than most remote but it does not. Because my electronic components (DVD, Receiver, VCR) are on the side of the room facing the screen, I could not get the main extender to face both the projector and my components. Luckily the Leapfrog came with an remote extender which looks like a small LEC diode with wire which connects to the extender. I have this pointed to my components and viola everything works! 67% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Very easy to set up. Works as advertised! Weakness: Antenna on receiver is not attractive. I purchased this system to control a digital cable box. Installation couldn't have been simpler, just plugged each unit into an outlet. The "sender" unit is located in a second floor bedroom, the "receiver" unit is in the main floor family room. The only requirement is that the receiver must be pointed toward the device being controlled. The sender unit could be anywhere, as long as you point the remote control at it. The system worked perfectly, with little or no delay. 56% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Does what it says - allows you to control stereo in another room via remote control Weakness: Need line of sight between stereo and leapfrog item Product works great. Only issue is that if you want to put the leapfrog apparatus in a subtle place and you have a dog, your choices are more limited. 50% of readers found this review helpful. Not as good as describedStrengths: Inexpensive Weakness: Must point remote directly at unit; won't work in sunlight or florescent light I was very hopeful that this product would work as well as some had written about it. Although I could get them to work, they were very intermittent and touchy. You have to point the remote, right at the unit for it to work. 20% of readers found this review helpful. works greatStrengths: Works with Verizon FiOS Set Top Boxes at all angles, between floors in a house riddled with WiFi and cordless signals Weakness: My wife prefers the neighbors "little" repeater system that only exposes the IR eye but cost over $200. I prefer to save the money and have the flexibility with the Terk units. After alot of reading and considering many options, some as expensive as $215, I tried a similar Jensen product for $51 that did not work at all. The Terk, which in it's new configuration are small square boxes, not cones, worked great and cost less than $40! I have the Verizon Set Top Box in the basement with the one Terk unit and the other Terk unit is in the kitchen next to my wall mounted flat screen TV. Hasn't missed a beat. Very cool!Strengths: Works great, affordable, pays for itself in 6 months (no extra reciever fee) Weakness: Took me a while to get it set up. Was kind of fussy about location for the 2 units, but once you find a good position it is awesome! What I got did not look at all like the pic, but I am glad. The ones they sent were actually better looking, (square, with a telescoping antenna like on an old radio or cordless phone.) Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Works great (thru walls and floors, although it is suppose to do that) really like the small infrared sensor that you hook up to your unit so you can hide (no one even knows it's there) Weakness: can not buy extra units to use together It's alot cheaper than buying another reciever for my dish (and it's alot easier than unhooking, then rehooking it back up if I want to watch in the other room). This works great for my needs (especially since I did not want to run more wires) and with the infrared thing they send with it you can hide your one unit so no one knows it's there (that was a nice surprise since I didn't know it came with anything like that). Very nice product, works great- only weakness is you can't buy another "add on unit". Other options out there that are more expensive but if all you want/need is to control something from "one" other room I believe this is what to get. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Quick install and worked as stated! Weakness: Finding location for eye! We purchased an Entertainment Center that had wooden doors, and my remote signals would not penetrate the wood. Purchased the Leapfrog system and was up and running in less then 10 minutes. I used the eye, which was kind of sensitive, and does not always stick in place. Once I found the correct location, that would allow the signal to hit each box, I was good to go! Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Works as advertised. Let's me use my remote from another room. Weakness: It was a little touchy to set up the extension eye of the infrared extender. I set the system up in just a few minutes and it worked. I did not have a good place to put the main infrared transmitter, so I used the small extension which is connected with a cable several feet long. The little transmitter eye on the end of it was tricky to position. If you put it too close to the receiving eye on the device you want to control, it seems to block the signal to the eye when you are using the remote in the same room as the equipment you are controlling(That is when you are not in the other room using the Terk to transmit remotely). I know it sounds weird, but I have two of the Terks and had the same problem with both. At first I thought my remote needed new batteries. Anyway, I was very happy with the system after I overcame that problem. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Easy to use after setup, IR extender, great value. Weakness: The transmitter should be positioned just right The convenience of using components in another part of the house makes this a great value at the price. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Works with every remote that I've tried. Very convenient. I like being able to use it to remotely control several devices or just one, with the wired IR blaster. Weakness: Couldn't find anything to complain about. I would highly recommend it for people who want to get the most out of distributing audio and video sources throughout the home. Truly plug-n-play. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: clean design, works flawlessly Weakness: none apparent Good problem solver. I use to operate a satellite receiver hooked by cable to a bedroom TV. This eliminated the need for another receiver in the bedroom. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: Very easy to install. Weakness: None The Leapfrog remote control range extender is very easy to install. Just plug it into an electric outlect and place it to face the TV, VCR, or DVD player to be operated remotely, and it is ready to go. Now I can change channels from the TV I am watching which receives pictures from a TV in the other room through a video sender. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Universal TERK Remote Control ExtenderStrengths: extremely simple installation - plug in and use- works well and is quite reasonably priced Weakness: i hate the struggle to open the stiff plastic it comes packaged in For months, my exercise room tv watching has depended on whatever was tuned on the kitchen tv, since it is a slave to the same dirct tv receiver - i refuse to pay them another $5/month for a separate receiver - this product solved my problem for very little money - it goes through walls and works great - i wouldn't buy the $50 models - this works perfectly for under $30 Did you find it helpful or unhelpful?
