A pleasant surprise

Strengths: Very quiet, just as advertised. Low current draw. Looks to be well made and I expect it should hold up well.

Weakness: It is "taller" than most but I understand this is necessary to allow a bigger fan to move air without the noise. In my case it was not an issue but could be in a few installations I suppose.

I read about how quiet this fan was supposed to be and I must admit I had my doubts given my experiences with other bathroom ceiling fans. I was just hoping it was somewhat quieter. To my surprise it was, in fact, very quiet ... I was very pleased. It was promptly shipped, well packed and the entire transaction exceeded my expectations.

Panasonic Bath Fan FV 08VQ3

Strengths: Very quiet and strong. Versatile mounting options.

Weakness: If a weakness, somewhat large (probably for quietness).

The fan is quiet and exhausts well. It can be mounted between studs, not as other fans that need to be affixed to a stud. The box is larger than other fans of same capacity, but this is probably to keep air velocity low and keep the noise level low. Very satisfied with this fan so far.

Stay away from Panasonic

Strengths: Unknown

Weakness: Customer service is horrendous...avoid Panasonic

My fan failed after 3 years. I am well-qualified to diagnose the problem, I
determined that the motor failed by measuring the AC voltage at the wall switch
and then at the junction box in the fan. All they needed was to send me a new
motor. Even though the unit is still under warranty, the customer service manager Shari refused to send me a replacement part unless I had an electrician
diagnose it. I could buy a new one for the price of an electrician! I was on the
phone for an hour and a half...mostly on hold...trying to solve this. When I
complained to Shari about their service, she questioned that I was on hold that
long and kept baiting me into arguing about that instead of trying to help me.
Then she tried to tell me that it was NOT under warranty.

She also wanted a receipt even though my house was new construction. I would
have to have Centex fax them the receipt. By this point it was clear that she was mocking me, since she knew I wouldn't be able to get a receipt from the builder.

I'll be following up with Panasonic at the highest level that will listen. I'll also be doing everything I can to make sure Centex knows what happened. Hopefully, I can turn them on to Broan.

Stay away from Panasonic if you care about customer service!

good fan

Strengths: powerful, quiet

Weakness: not necessarily straightforward to install as a retrofit — installation guide could be clearer

A powerful, quiet exhaust fan. But not necessarily straightforward to install as a retrofit — installation guide could be clearer. I don't have anything else to add.

Panasonic bathroom fan

Strengths: This is an exceptionally quiet bathroom fan, the best I ever had installed. Have added Panasonic fans to my other two bathrooms.

Weakness: Need larger area than other fans above the ceiling.

Great product. I read about this product from another source and also received a recommendation from a electrical supply representative. The fan is larger overall than most others, but is also much quieter than the rest.
