Excellent machine.

Strengths: Very nice keypad, very efficient, comparatively quiter.

Weakness: none.

For the price this microwave gives more than anyone on the market. It had a auto 1 minute time set when you press the Start button, instead of you typing 1, 0 , 0 everytime you wanna reheat something for a minute. The keypads are pretty decent and also has a lot of shortcut keys assigned. I am happy with the product and would reccomend it to anyone.

nice microwave

Strengths: compact, nice looking, work well

Weakness: close and open the door

This is a very nice microwave. I like the look and the different pre-programmed functions. It heats food pretty fast. One improvement is to make the front door open and close more smooth. Overall I recommend it.

Bang for the buck

Strengths: Preset buttons, cooks food well, great price for a name brand item

Weakness: Door pops open very fast and all the way; makes relatively loud noise when the door open and closes. Front plastic screen is thin and cheap, but it gets the job done I guess.

There really isn't much to say about a microwave. It cooks my leftover dinners very well as well as my dinner rolls. This is definitely worth the money, since I got mine for around $50. After a rebate or two, you might be able to get it down it around $30 after rebate, but one would have to look around for them. Screen door is made of wiggly (not hard) plastic, but I guess that is good enough to block radiation; just be sure not to puncture it because it is thin and soft enough to be punctured (assuming you apply enough sharp force to it). It's not something that would bother you unless you really want a screen that is firm. Definitely worth the money. Reccomended.

Not bad for the price

Strengths: small and compact. good for office.

Weakness: none

Have been using this microwave for a week and love it. It's small and compact, but it has all the functions my old 1500w sharp microwave has. the only thing is you need to be a little patient if you are used to "big" microwave. With this one you need 2 minutes to heat up a cup of milk. Can't complain at all, for the price I paid for.

Overall good

Strengths: Price Ease of use

Weakness: Not as many features as high end models

All in all this is a very good deal for the price. Therea are models with more power and more features, but this thing gets the job done, and fits in spaces that bigger models wouldn't.

Recommended.

Good Budget Microwave

Strengths: Nice styling. Price. Cooks food well and evenly.

Weakness: Would prefer black. Thin Manual. A little under powered. Clock not backlit.

I was in the market for a new Microwave. Some of the buttons on my old one don't work anymore. Plus it was dirty and buying a new one seemed more fun than cleaning it. I didn't want to pay a lot since I don't use it a ton. I ran across this model for $50 with a $10 manufacturer rebate and $10 pricegrabber review rebate which you are now reading. Seemed like a winner. I am only going to reheat stuff and make frozen dinners in it. For that I think it will work well. It is the same wattage as my old microwave so I know how long to cook things. I did make a couple frozen dinners in it. They cooked evenly and well. It has some specialty buttons like reheat, popcorns, defrost, etc. The only one I care about in the 1 minute button cause that is all I use. I think if you are spending this little your not the type who is going to program it. The only thing I disliked is the fact that the clock is not backlit, but I can live with that.

worth the bucks

Strengths: small, cute, good for daily use, easy to handle.

Weakness: the design style is a little bit old.And I admmit that it is somewhat underpowered

My last microwave Oven is also Sharp's use it for almost 5 years. Don't have any problem with this brand, highly recommend for all guys who are seeking for a cheap but not crappy oven. Also if you wanna more functional one, maybe you can try some panasonic's.

Funtional Portability

Strengths: Works well Great Price Size

While this microwave does have a relatively low power output, it is more than enough for an office or a college dorm room (and the price is excellent!). The size is more of a strength than a weakness as it is easy to transport while still able to heat fairly large containers. So far I have no complaints.

no frills microwave

Strengths: name brand, price

Weakness: smallish, no lit LED

You can't go wrong with a Sharp microwave so I've heard so I decided to get this for a great deal with rebate. It will only hold one plate or cup at a time (800 cu. ft.) but does the job. The main problem with this is the display is not lit so no luck in seeing it in the dark.

Sharp R230KW 800 Watt Microwave (0.8 Cu. Ft., White)

Strengths: *800 watts in a compact unit *low price *well known brand *modern clean look *carousel helps with even cooking *price

Weakness: *keypad not lighted which for me is minor

I had an older larger Sharp that lasted for over 15 troublefree years. I like the 800 watt output in this small unit. I can use my inverter in the car and prepare quick snacks and meals on the road. The unit is small, light, and portable. The carousel helps even the cooking. I also tested it for microwave leakage and it tested fine. It has a sleek modern look with a $10.00 rebate. The price under $50.00 and Sharps reputation for a reliable product makes me a happy camper thus far.

Microwave Oven

Strengths: Easy to use

Weakness: Uneven cooking

I am pleased with this microwave oven. It is easy to operate, was very inexpensive, and functions as described. Sometimes the food is hot in places and cool in others; but not much worse then other microwaves.

Sharp R230KW 800-Watt Countertop Microwave

Strengths: Inexpensive, works well

Weakness: LCD has no backlight

This microwave is affordable and works well. It has all the functions one would need for daily use. Unfortunately, the LCD has no backlight, which can make it very hard to read. But despite this design flaw, I think this is a good product.

Great Basic Microwave

Strengths: Fast, Inexpensive, Does its Job

Weakness: LCD has no backlight

I received this little Sharp two days ago and so far overall I am impressed. I like it's size and color scheme. It works much better than my last microwave (which was underpowered). Unfortunately the clock (and screen) are unreadable at night as the screen is not backlit. Basically if you are a college student and don't have lots of extra money laying around, this little microwave is perfect for you. (try getting it without tax and shipping that helped save 10+ dollars).

Perfect for cooking tv meals and reheating food

Strengths: Compact, price

Weakness: none

I bought this oven after the door latch of my 7-year-old Sharp finally broke. This is the perfect microwave oven for me because I eat a lot of tv meals. I would recommend this to anybody who wants to fix meal right away or people who likes hot meals.

Sharp R230KW Microwave: Great space saver

Strengths: Size Power Looks

Weakness: Size (if there are a lot of you)

If you want a mic for a small apartment or dorm room, this is a great little unit.
We use it as a 2nd unit in our family room area.
It does a great job for warming foods and making pop corn etc.
I would never consider ti as the primary kitchen unit with a family of 7.
But it might be all a family of 4 ever needs.

Good, Compact, Value for your money

Strengths: compact and price is low,

Weakness: The power level is little low. As someone mentioned in review it is missing backlit, missing the quick minute option.

It is reasonable in price. Good for daily use. I use the microwave mostly to warm milk or cooked food. Not a heavy user. If you are not a power user, This is for you. I am ok with it, no problems so far.

Fantastic microwave

Strengths: Price is cheap. Easy to use, Very compact.

Weakness: Power may be a little bit small. But you get what you paid for.

I bought this little cuttie for less than forty dollors online. It is very compact, light-weighted, but delivers decent performance. For this price, no complaint. But if you need a very powerful microwave. Look somewhere else. Sharp is a good brand name to trust. 5 star for the price.
4 star for the performance. Overall four star. No brainer.

pretty good for daily use

Strengths: compact, very nice looking

Weakness: too many bottons on the control panel

I used the oven for three weeks, almost daily. It is very powerful for such a small oven. I put it on top of the fridge, looks quite good. Very quite. Just I feel it is hard to remember all those functions with the bottons on the panel. But if you like me, just use to reheating food, this product is the right one.

A fine and reliable small microwave

Strengths: Durable. Small size. Price.

Weakness: Door front is covered with plastic material that gets scratched easily; small size; button layout could be better (minute plus is hidden in the middle)

It takes less counter space than others. It is perfect for reheating left overs, popcorns, drinks and the price is right. We have it at home and bought another one to give as gift.

r230kw

Strengths: great choice for the money. heats up fast. nice white finish and flat buttons.

Weakness: none so far that I can see. Only that the door is sorta loose. Sorta loud when on.

Very nice product. I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a new cheap basic microwave. It will heat up water, left overs, cheese quesadillas, you name it, it can heat it. This is definitely a must buy if you are in fast need of a microwave.

Excellent for space conscious, small yet powerful,...

Strengths: Rotating carousel, fits full size plate, good wattage considering size, stylish looking, easy to use

Weakness: Would be better if was 1000+ watts

Works great where countertop space is a premium. Gets the job done, not meant to replae a full sized microwave. Perfect for warming up leftovers or a cup of hot water. Would be great in dorm rooms or small apartments. Can be had for a great price. Sharp quality is better than a lot of no name questionable brands.

Sharp R-230KW | Standard

The Sharp R-230KW is a tiny, compact, and lightweight microwave oven. A step-up from the R-220KW and R-209KK models, this unit adds along a variety of short cuts for easily melting, softening, and warming foods. Like its peers, however, it still hosts a plethora of general microwave functions: four cook options, six reheat options, and even a defroster for defrosting meats and poultry. It does,...
