Excellent monitor. Excellent value.

Strengths: Perhaps the best IPS panel for the money. Superior stand. aRGB color space (if that's what you're looking for). Looks good out of box. Bells and whistles galore.

Weakness: Demands calibration in order to achieve accurate color. The characteristics of IPS and aRGB may not be what you really need. In fact, they may be detrimental to you. Color uniformity issues?

I have my lp2475 along side a NEC2490 for video editing and I have to say that it compares very well. I wanted an aRGB with my sRGB nec in case I ever needed the color space while working in Photoshop. My 2475 is not calibtated like my Nec, so it can't hold a candle in terms of color accuracy, but it holds up very well in terms of gradients and viewing angles, not to mention all the extras and the price (which is about half NEC's). The stand is also excellent, being able to position the screen at almost any angle while not sacrificing its sturdiness.

Due to the nature of IPS panels, this HP monitor is not meant for the hardcore gamer. I have played World of Warcraft on my NEC2490, which is also IPS, and it looked and played beautifully, but if fast moving first person shooters is more your style, you may be giving your opponents a bit of an advantage due to the panel's slower response times. Also, the aRGB color space that the lp2475 uses makes movies, games, and webpages look neon and over-saturated unless they properly configured to handle it (which most aren't). There is a sRGB mode in the menu, but I haven't played with it.

One knock, that hopefully is towards my monitor only, is the fact that the USB hub doesn't work. All the plugs are in properly, it just doesn't work. I felt that since I don't really need the hub, I wasn't going to go through the hassle of returning it etc. I don't see a defect in any other, more important, way. it appears to be slightly redder on the right side of the screen than the left, but I want to get my hands on a meter before I say for sure.

Fast delivery from Provantage. They even called to verify the mailing address because I was a first time customer.
