Awesome Value

Strengths: Best netbook for the price by far.

Weakness: battery life could be better - 2 hours on a charge

I bought a Dell Mini 9 about 6 months with XP, 1G ram, and a 16G SSD. Pretty much the same configuration as this. I bought this for my wife since several people I work with have really liked their eepc 900s. In may ways I find this to be better that the Dell. The keyboard layout is better, the touch pad two finger scroll is very cool, it comes with the camera and it cost less than half the price of the dell mini 9 and it isn't prone to smugging like the dell. A first I thought it was sluggish but found out that it was that dang Norton sw that was killing me like it has on my other PCs. Once Norton has done it initialization stuff it runs great.

Great Computer For the Price, But Don't Expect...

Strengths: Small, portable size; Great price; Great for light applications

Weakness: Tiny keyboard; Not built for high-end applications

I bought this in conjunction with a Western Digital 400 gig USB Drive as a way to always keep my important documents by my side when I'm away from home. If you're buying this for a main computer, you will be very disappointed. If you're buying one for light software use and internet applications, you'll enjoy it. Right now I have AVS DVD Player, MS Office, Firefox, AVG Anti-Virus, AIM, GTalk, Skype, and Pitch Deluxe installed and it runs smoothly. I'm debating if I want to install Flash CS3 or not since that's the program I use most, but I think it might be too resource heavy for it. My only real complaint about this netbook is that the keyboard is pretty small and takes a bit to get used to. Also, if you're picky about what's on your hard drive you'll have to spend a bit of time removing trials of Norton, MS Student Office, Online Backup, etc. I bought a medium size laptop bag for it and that gives me enough room for the Asus, a mouse, power cord, snacks and all my work documents so it's perfect. Overall, I'm very pleased with this netbook

Great computer with one major flaw.

Strengths: Perfect travel size and weight. XP already loaded.

Weakness: The flash ssd drive is too slow and will drive you nuts waiting!

This would be an excellent computer to take on the road because of its small size and weight. I didn’t have to learn anything new because it’s already loaded with XP. I immediately realized that having to wait a long time for pages to load was just unacceptable. This is the fault of the flash ssd drive used in this model. I cannot recommend this model especially when Asus now have the exact computer with the 160 GB hard drive (model 900HA) without the loading problem.

I plan to use this computer in my aircraft cockpit ( There are excellent aviation GPS moving map navigation programs- that run on XP). At or above 10000ft. hard drives won't work . They require an air cushion and at that altitude the air is too thin. My light twin is not pressurized. An SSD drive is perfect - it works at any altitude - not to mention its' shock resistance. This configuration is something many fellow general aviation pilots have been hoping for. (Different strokes for different folks.)

not worth it

Strengths: size

Weakness: everything else

too slow, freezes constantly, no frills, barely useable.
i'd suggest spending a bit more money because this unit is not worth buying.

i was also VERY disappointed with ASUS customer service. they were unprofessional and not helpful.

buydig was excellent!

poor choice

Strengths: size, price

Weakness: PAINFULLY SLOW. Constantly freezes

it's way too slow, it constantly freezes and unfortunately, although inexpensive, you're getting what you pay for. Horrible asus tech support -very disappointing - perhaps the worse i've ever deallt with. on a positive note - buydig.com was terrific.
