Strengths: Good colors, viewing angles, DVD player

Weakness: Black levels could be better. Cannot play compressed video.

I looked at different TVs and didn’t see any that has better colors. The level of black is not as good, but one can notice it only in a very dark room. One of major advantages of that TV is that screen has almost no reflection on it. The actual choice was between better black levels (other brands) with reflection or no reflection, but limited black (this one).

Build in DVD player is very convenient. Besides that you do not need extra cables, I was not able to get even close picture quality with Samsung 40 LCD and Samsung up-conversion DVD player over HDMI. DVD player cannot play compressed video formats (xvid, divx).

Manual comes on DVD, but controls are very intuitive and easy to use. The TV came with bad picture settings, including too high backlight level. I used calibration DVD to set it up. To my surprise the quality of SD channels is very good.

LG 32LG40 HDTV w/built in dvd

Strengths: Clear picture with a dvd player that actually works. The sound is pretty decent.

Weakness: Will not play compressed videos

I truly did my homework on this purchase and I'm satistfied. I still recommend getting an extended warranty with any lcd with a built in dvd player.
