Sony Walkman Network Digital MP3 Player

Strengths: Superb sound quality, the atrac2PLUS 68kbit rate is almost as good as cd quality. THe difference in sound quality between atrac3 128kbit and the atrac3plus is breathtaking!

Weakness: None! except that the sonic stage software is a bit difficult.

The best mp3 player on the market! The design and the sound is awesome! Make sure to configure the custom sound S1 and S2 featuers to get the best soundquality.

Sony Walkman Network Digital MP3 Player

Strengths: The Sony NWMS70D Duo was designed to be extremely strong, but yet still be very light & small. The duo's titanim shell weighs in just over 2 oz. Height = 2.0" Width = 1.5" Depth = 0.75"

Weakness: The Duo mp3 player is so small they had to create smaller memory sticks. You can't use the older memory sticks with the Duo. You have to purchase the duo memory stick if you want to expand the memory.

There are a few positives and negatives with the Sony Duo memory stick. One good thing about the Duo memory stick is that it's compatible with all of the Sony memory stick items as long as you have the converter to convert the smaller Duo memory stick to the regular memory stick size. The negative thing about the Duo memory stick is that it's more expensive than the conventional Sony memory sticks.
I have a Sony PC, Sony Clie PDA, Sony digital camera and now the Sony Duo mp3 player. All my Sony products run off of the regular memory sticks except the Duo mp3 player. But, The Duo memory stick uses a much smaller version of memory stick so you have to use the converter to make it normal size for all the other products that still use the regular memory stick. So, if I want all my Sony memory sticks to be 100% compatible with all my products, all my Memory stick have to be the Duo so they can also fit the larger memory sticks. That's not a huge problem to convert memory sticks for the exception that the Duo Memory stick does cost more than the regular conventional memory stick costs. Another down fall to the Duo memory stick verses the regular memory stick is that the largest Duo memory stick is only 128 mb verses the regular Sony memory sticks are easily hitting 256 mb and higher. But the mp3 player is great. Its awesome, I recommend purchasing it. Its skip free and sleek. The battery lasts like 48 hours, on all that time. The 256 mb memory is embedded and holds 150 songs.

Sony NW-MS70D Network Walkman

If Sony wishes to recover financially, they need to stop using cul-de-sac formats which were great for MiniDisc but not necessary other styles of music player.
