This device is 90% great ....version 102 'could be'...

Strengths: Nice box; easy to move files w/ SD card; supports rechargable batteries for backup;

Weakness: See below -related to telephone call recording.

This device is, for the most part, outstanding. My personal need is to record phone calls; undetected. You can turn off the 'required notify beep' which is great. Recording is indeed undetectable by the "remote" side caller. If you need to be stealth in-house (your side of the call), then there are problems. 1. Their is some "echo" on the local phone; obvious to anyone that "something" changed. 2. You can "monitor" calls through the built-in speaker; regretfully, you can't turn the speaker down to a zero volume level. I had to "cover" the device so it could not be heard.
Other minor problems: 1. You have to use 24hr time stamps; in 12hr, you can't set am/pm. 2. File names (.mp3) can overlap (re-used) if you move files off the SD card and then record more calls that day -they need to do better job with file names like including hhmm time stamp to prevent the name overlap.

Great things - EASY to move files; uses standard SD card. Supports rechargable batteries for power backup. Phone line adapter is perfect; plug and play to phone jack. Sound clearity is outstanding (*but there is an issue with low/high volume levels between remote/local side of phone call recordings).
