Sekonic L-358 MeterStrengths: water and moisture resistant, 2 ISO settings, easy to handle, measures ambient and strobe lights Weakness: na This is my first light meter. I was a little nervous at first that it would be hard to use, but it is very easy to use and the owner's manual tells you everything you need to know. I think this was a great investment for me. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sekoic L-358 Flash MeterStrengths: Being able to take it out in the rain without worrying, because it's water resistent is a nice feature. The "time priority" and "shutter priority" is also nice for new users. Weakness: The light colored lettering on the gray meter is difficult to see because of glare both outside and inside. The L-358 Digital Flash Light Meter offers users with limitted or no experiance the ability to use a quality light meter with it's "Aperture Priority",or "Time Priority" modes. But also offers "advanced functions" for the more experianced user.It offers controls such as "Flash Analyzing indicator","Muti Cumulative Flash measurement","EV display",Analog Scale" and much more. it also has a number of accessories that can be purchased. 93% of readers found this review helpful. Sekonic Flashmaster L-358... accurate but poor...Strengths: accepts wireless transmitter module, readings are accurate Weakness: poor LCD display and feels a little cheap for its price Though the Sekonic L-358 is considered to be the standard pro light meter by many, there is certainly room for improvement. The casing of the meter feels a little cheap. I would have felt a little more confident if the item were made in Japan rather than the Philippines. My previous light meter, a Minolta (Minolta light meters are now made by Kenko, used a AA battery. For it’s size I would have expected the Sekonic L-358 to use a AA as well. Instead it uses one, harder to find, CR123A battery. I suppose this choice was made to make room for the option of the wireless transmitter module. These are only minor concerns. wonderful not expensive flash meterStrengths: resonable price, solid build Weakness: none,so far I bought this from digitalfoto with free shipping. I am very happy with the price. It has everything that you need. Compact, I also purchased the wireless module RT-32 to pair it with pocket-wizard plus II. In this case you don't even need any cord to trigger strobes. Highly recommend. If you have spare money and you care spot metering, try the more experience one L-758. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sekonic L-358 simple and efficient
Strengths: easy to use/read, several memories and modes, provides both incident and reflective
I only got this meter because Minolta went out of business, and was skeptical at first. The Sekonic has been a pleasant suprise, though. It is extremely simple to use and read, and when your doing flash metering it does this cool thing where it tells you how much percent of the light is ambient and how much is from your strobe. It's a little of an investment, but I definitely recommend it.
