Motorola Mobile PhoneTools software CD plus...

Strengths: Eventually, full control of the phone.

Weakness: Doesn't work out of the box.

Motorola should be ashamed of themselves for putting out a product like this to unsuspecting users. The software is unusable out of the box. This is not what I expected from what I consider an otherwise fine company. After following the instructions on the printed insert, the software simply didn't work. It seems that there may have been another CD that didn't get put into the box. I finally got it to work by going to the software makers website (also very confusing) and dowloading the update.

Useless

Strengths: Bluetooth adaptor can be used for other things.

Weakness: Pretty much everything.

I got the package and immediately installed the software and adaptor. Well, the adaptor wouldn't talk to my phone, so I had to use the built in adaptor to communicate with my phone. The software isn't user friendly and to do a lot of functions is very tedious and hard to understand. I'm fairly computer and software savvy and I had a lot of problems using the software. It's now sitting on my shelf collecting dust, so that tells you how much I enjoyed this product..

At least you won't have to type in data using the...

Strengths: Does work well with latest version of Outlook for the initial adding of names and phone numbers to the phone. Bluetooth works well.

Weakness: Only transfers some information, not all.

Bluetooth works well.

Does work well with latest version of Outlook for the initial adding of names and phone numbers to the phone.

Only transfers some information, not all. This is in part due to the limitation of the motorola phonebook not being an addressbook. But it seems like there is a better way of getting more data to the phone.

Nice product, once you get it working.

Strengths: Permits full customization of the phone from PC. Bluetooth eliminates need to carry extra cable around.

Weakness: Software needs to be updated right out of the box before working. For WinXP SP2, a new bluetooth driver also needs to be downloaded.

This product is great once you get it all running and working on your pc. However, the software as it comes right out of th e box doesn't work and needs to be immediately updated to get even close to working. I am running WinXP SP2, so in addition to updating the software I also had to download a new bluetooth driver from the support site to get the software to be able to detect my phone. In my opinion, the software should have done all of this for me but it did not.

Once I got it running, the product is great and gives you full control of your phone from the PC. Makes it a lot easier to customize everything.
