Lens hood for EF 28-135

Strengths: Specially design for EF 28-135.

Weakness: Price.

If you own a Canon EF 28-135, you need to get one of this for your lens. Canon specially designed this lens hood so that it will reduce lens flare. Furthermore, it will also protect the front element of your lens, if you accidentally bum into something. A good investment item for protecting your lens.

Canon 28-135 IS Lens Hood (EW-78II)

Strengths: Protects your lens. Reduces sunlight entering your lens to improve image saturation and color. Makes you look like a pro (although this doesn't mean you really are). Can be reversed to fit camera bag.

Weakness: The material used for the inner part of the lens hood is hard to get dust/dirt off. Pricey for a piece of plastic

All and all this is a product worth buying if you want better image quality on a sunny day. The price is a little too much for a piece of plastic but if your making money off of your photos, one sale can pay for itself. It's better quailty than aftermarket rubber hoods and again made by Canon. Shop around for a good price, I got mine from Amazon for $25.

Nice hood for EF 28-135mm lens

Strengths: Specific for EF 28-135 lens

Weakness: price

I bought this hood for my canon EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. It helps reduce lens flare and looks great on the lens. You can also store it on the lens reversely. It's a bit expensive.

Hood for EF 28-135

Strengths: Specifically designed for EF 28-135

Weakness: Price

A lot of money for a piece of plastic. It looks good and does reduce lens flare. I'm not sure how Canon justifies the price. If it cost about half of what they charge, I would be more satisfied.

Very nice lens hood!

Strengths: 1. Looks very nice when with this lens hood. 2. Prevents flare.

Weakness: 1. Velvet-like lining inside because it easily becomes dusty. 2. Quite difficult to do zooming when this hood is reversely attached, but still possible.

I bought a 28-135 lens first and then bought this lens hood about 3 weeks later. I am not sure how much it is helpful or effective in preventing flare because I did not compare the results side by side. But, it's true that it looks very nice with this lens hood and I believe that I can prevent scratches with this one too. Worth having!

EW-78BII Lens Hood for EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens

Strengths: Nice butterfly hood. Protect the lens from stray light.

Weakness: Inner the hood is made from lining easily gets dirty.

This lens hood can prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. Stray light is cause of flare. It is light weight and looks nice especially the butterfly shape. Moreover, it can protect the lens from finger touch. When I want to attach a filter, it’s a bit hard. You have to have a small hand to put you hand into this hood or you have to remove lens hood before attach filter. It takes more time than before. Inside this lens hood, it covers by lining, so it easily gets dirty when you hand touch it or some dust pass it. Anyway, this lens hood helps your shot.

Canon EW-78B II Lens Hood for EF 28-135mm IS USM

Strengths: works perfecttly with the 28-135 IS lens

Weakness: none

Works great at preventing lens flare on the 28-135 lens.

You can reverse the lens hood for storage. However, if working indoors, the hood cannot be kept like this as it blocks the zoom ring.

Nice Hood

Strengths: Protects Glass

Weakness: none

This hood does what it's good at, protecting your glass and reducing flare. Attaches firmly and stays in place with a quick turn. Hard to put a cap on the lens with it in place, but it can be done. Look cool also!

Canon EW-78B II Lens Hood for EF 28-135mm IS USM

Strengths: prevent unwanted light rays from entering the lens and hence reduce lens glare and ghost images.

Weakness: no

work perfect with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Canon SLR Lens. I had a rubber hood before and it works not as good as this one. Metal hoods provide a better protection of the lens, I believe. Highly recommended if you own EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Canon SLR Lens
