eneloop AA

Strengths: long shelf life

Weakness: price

These batteries do work as advertised; i.e. they
do not loose their charge as much as "normal" NiMH batteries.
Based on this reason, we justified the higher price (a disadvantage). Now, when a battery runs out, we can
replace it immediately with an Eneloop that has been charged over a month prior!

Use these batteries and you'll be doing youself a...

Strengths: +Good for the environment and your wallet +Batteries come pre-charged +Can be charged up to 1000 times and still have 80% of their life left after 1 year of use

Weakness: Sometimes its a pain waiting for the batteries to charge, but I consider it my fault that I don't keep more pre-charged batteries as backups

To sum up, here are the main reasons why you SHOULD switch to Sanyo eneloop batteries:
-Using rechargeable NiMH batteries (instead of alkaline) is environmentally and financially friendly.
-Eneloop batteries come pre-charged and ready to use right out of the package.
-You can choose to top-up those cells anytime with the MQN05 smart charger (or other compatible charger); there is no risk of over-charging.
-once charged, the batteries can retain 80% of their charge even after 6-12 months in storage, and can be recharged up to 1000 total times

Eneloop AA Nimh Review

Strengths: They come charged, hold the charge, and last a long time

Weakness: None in my opinion, they stand up to the higher MaH rated batteries as well.

My old NiMH batteries finally died after being recharged hundreds of times, and I tried some cheap ones from all-batteries.com and they would randomly not work even after being fully charged. It was really frustrating so I wanted a battery that would hold its charge so my flashlights and digital camera wouldn't die so easily and these work absolutely great. No complaints whatsoever!

Eneloop Pre-Charged Low discharge batteries

Strengths: Come pre-charged and are stable.

Weakness: About 25% less capacity than current high capacity NiMh batteries.

Even though the overall capacity of the batteries is relatively low compared to what you can buy these days, they are really stable and keep their charge for longer. For other NiMh batteries, you would want to charge them just before you use them but these batteries can be stored over a long period. Very convenient.

Great Batteries

Strengths: Looks, Works

Weakness: Need a good charger

I suggest you to buy a good charger (with LCD screen) if you'd like to fully utilize these nice batteries as most of the the batteries seem full even though they're not.

Eneloop NiMH Rechargeable AA Batteries by GE/Sanyo

Strengths: Batteries come pre-charged, ready to use. Sanyo claims they hold their charge much longer than other NiMH batteries.

Weakness: None

Tired of grabbing NiMH batteries that you thought were charged only to find they had self-discharged while just setting there? Usually this is just before you grab your camera to go out the door. Well, now there may be an answer.
Sanyo claims these batteries hold their charge much longer than standard NiMH batteries. I haven't had them long enough to confirm that, but the ones I received were fully charged and ready to use.
I've had the same batteries in my digital camera (four) and in the external flash (two) for almost a week and they still show over 80% capacity. The flash is new so it's been on/off a lot as I learn & test all the functions. I was concerned with it using just two AA batteries that I would have to carry extras in my pocket, but the two I installed are still cranking out the power.
GE/Sanyo may have finally come up with an answer to the self-discharge problem that plagued NiMH batteries.

Sanyo Eneloop AA Rechargeable Batteries

Strengths: Come precharged ready for use. Hold charge up to 85% up to a year.

Weakness: None

These batteries are fantastic for digital camera use. Having used conventional rechargeables in the past only to find them with little or no charge when I needed them, these batteries are a HUGE improvement. You can charge them and expect to have most of the charge available after several months of storage. I also find that they produce 3 to 4 times as many pictures as disposable AAs.
