Awesome 32' HDTV For ALL My Needs

Strengths: Where do I start? Price; Picture; Versatility; Simplicity of set-up & use; Aesthetics; Value.

Weakness: Haven't found any yet.

I though that I was purchasing a budget TV because of the price but I am amazed at the out of the box quality of this unit. I have a great HD experience with remotes that operate everything the way they are supposed to, including the HDTV-PVR Receiver remote which also controls the TV.

I was especially impressed by how nicely this TV monitor functions as a PC Monitor - Via a 3 meter (10ft) PC-to-Monitor extension cable the wife and I plug our MacBook into the TV and sit on the couch playing games together. Something here of interest is that the laser pointer we have used in the past to point things out to each other when we play literally disappears when it hits the TV screen! The light absorption of the screen is so excellent that it is no wonder glare has not been an issue!

Bottom line - we love it. Highly recommended.

Great TV for the price

Strengths: Crystal clear picture quality, Easy to setup and use

Weakness: None so far

Its best TV. 6ave.com delivered within 5 days. Picture quality and sound are excellent for this mid-priced HDTV. Higher priced models may win in a comparison, because of more advanced video technology, but you can't beat the quality in this price range. Set up is easy and, in game mode, this TV can keep up with the most action packed games. I appreciate the multi-function remote control.

I'm a believer!

Strengths: Crisp clear picture, nice sound, easy set-up

Weakness: Only 2 HDMI inputs - but this room only has 1 device that requires an HDMI so far.

I have read a lot of bad reviews on lower priced sets and was a little concerned. I can happily report that this one works very, very well right out of the box. The set-up was very simple and straight-forward - four screws and the base was installed. Plugged an HDMI for Uverse (1080i) and a video/audio for DVD/VHS combo and was in business in less than 20 minutes. Picture is clear, sharp, bright, no dead pixels and the factory defaults are very good. I later tweaked other settings making minor personal changes after reading the rest of the manual but there were very few changes. This was not my first Toshiba product and won't be my last!

Delivery took about 5 days to TX using the free UPS Ground shipping so free shipping should not be a show stopper.

GREAT TV!

Strengths: Clear picture, great sound

Weakness: none so far

I have had this TV since October, 2008. It has been used daily and has never had any problems. My kids also use it to play their wii games on. The picture quality is fantastic and so is the sound.

Good Product

Strengths: Manual that came with it was easy to understand when connecting everything. Picture is clean.

Weakness: They don't name the cords that are needed to purchase so you can make all the connections for your usage. You have to get the TV first then figure it out.

I had to get the TV first before I knew what cords I needed. Then I had to search a little on line for cords that were really needed for hooking this to my equipment. Specific problem with understanding I needed a male to male 15 prong connection for it hook to my PC. It would be nice for more information so I could have decided if the 'package' of cords that were suggested to buy, are really a need for me and my usage. Sound was good until I hooked up a home video on the screen then it sounded like the bass had some problems. I will be using surround sound, once I get the cords.... Again wish I had previous knowledge so I could be up and running.

Toshiba

Strengths: We have had Toshiba products for almost 30 years with only one TV product that only lasted 8 years with difficulty. Currently we have 8 LCD TV's plus rear projection set spread over 5 locations..no problems.

Weakness: Have seen better picture quality, but not that much better for the price and seviceability of Toshiba branded products.

Decided on Toshiba products when transferred to FL Tampa Bay area and noticed Toshiba televisions were utilized by Busch Gardens in most harsh conditions. Still stand by my position and has worked for me.

32av502r

Strengths: picture quality

Weakness: have to continually shut it off and back on when changing channels

will switch between channels correctly only when output ratio remains costant, if you go from 720p picture to a 420 p or 1080p it needs to be shut off for a second, every time,, i had my cable installer come out and see my connections, [hdmi $50 cable], 2 different cables, and or inputs,, and he said my tv is junk, so i slod it to my sister, she will use component cables it works most of the time with those,, stay awy from refurbished toshiba's

Decent TV for the price

Strengths: Price, fairly good picture/sound

Weakness: Remote is poor, can't control DirecTV box On/off from remote doesn't work unless in the EXACT right spot

Overall, its a decent TV. I got it for $300, so I can't complain too much but there enough flaws to see why it was $300. My biggest complaint is that the Toshiba remote can't control the DirecTV box and the DirecTV remote can't turn the TV off. The DirecTV remote CAN handle volume and whatnot but neither one does everything.

I have a Sony, Vizio, and Toshiba. I'd rate the Toshiba in the same class as the Vizio, but still worth the $300 I paid (ebay).

Toshiba

Strengths: Price is great in comparison to value of viewing quality. The audio quality does leave a lot to be desired....but with a H/V system, it makes no matter.

Weakness: Audio problems are easily overcome with an inexpensive Home Video system that I have utilized....suggest Panosonic SC-PT670 for value/quality upgrades poor sound quality to superb for the price level

Overall, one can easily spend less than $630 and receive a very high return on investment for high quality products.....sure works for me!!! I have personally spent more than double the price for equal or less quality that I received on these two products alone....I was stupid!!!!!

1 year warranty expires...2 weeks later no picture

Strengths: good picture while it lasted.

Weakness: cheap parts.

Bought this TV from Best Buy a year ago before christmas and is toast. From what I can tell it is either the backlight or the backlight inverter. Totally unacceptable.

Great choice

Strengths: I'm happy with the size and weight, like the sound quality and picture is great no issues with using my at&t u-verse box, checked the coaxial, component, hdmi connections, found hdmi was the best quality.

Weakness: No weakness, unless you count lack of 1080p resolution, for a 32" you won't see much difference from 720p

I would recomend this model to anyone who puts it in a smaller room and wants it for gaming and has a good HD signal. The size and weight allows for easy options with small stand or on the wall.

This TV's Channel Browser Feature Is Awesome, and So...

Strengths: Great Picture (via Verizon FiOS); Toshiba's Trademarked "Channel Browser Feature" is USEFUL & GREAT; Remote Control is Nicely Laid Out and Glows In the Dark for Seeing In A Dark Environment

Weakness: MINOR, & NOT DEALBREAKERS: No Electronic Program Guide while viewing through ANT/CABLE Input

1st off, ordered from work online from BeachCamera.com 1:30 PM EST and FedEx delivered THE VERY NEXT MORNING at 8:30 AM-ish, WOW, thanks Beach Camera & FedEx. Channel Browser feature sets this apart from other 32" 720p TVs, IMO (I love having all those windows open and being able to scan each one and preview what's on, VERY USEFUL when channel surfing and following 2 or more sporting events at the same time). Hit the INFO button on the remote, and it gives you lots of info on that show>(ANT/CABLE input), hit it again and it tells you what's coming on next, so this is ACTUALLY a Program Guide, my bad! GREAT PICTURE QUALITY via ANT/CABLE Input (free HD channels without needing a HD cable/satellite box) and FiOS Standard Def Settop Box (using S-Video hookup), just use a splitter to accomplish this). Originally planned to get just a 26" for the kitchen to replace a 19" CRT monster, but GREEDY ME decided to purchase this 32" feature-rich TV to upgrade our 32" AOC (great TV also), which is now in the kitchen. In closing, this TV holds it own to the other 32" TVS (Samsung, Sony, etc.) in terms of picture quality, but it has many unique features that I just had to purchase, and at a GR8 PRICE!!!!
