JVC Has Raised The Bar!!
Strengths: Proximity Sensor, Text-to-Speech, Various Dimmer and Night Mode options, WAAS Capable, Built-in USB cord for iPod, Built-in SD Card Reader, Detachable Faceplate, Speed Limit Alert, Auto-Volume etc.
Weakness: No Vehicle Speed Sensor wire connection, Navigation depends on GPS antenna. Maps could be more detailed.
You'll love this unit in your car - Great sound quality, Nice, clear, detachable and responsive 7" touchscreen with Proximity Sensor which brings up on-screen menus as your hand approaches. Built-in SD card reader and SD card navigation maps means the CD/DVD drive is wide open for your music and movies. Built-in USB cord also means no "external unit" needed for iPods, flexible Dimmer and Night Mode options. This is the closest thing to having a Carputer in your ride. It is also WAAS enabled, however, the navigation lacks the connection to your Vehicle's Speed Sensor (VSS) which means if you go in a tunnel or stay too long under a bridge, you may lose Satellite signal and the unit won't be able to determine your location or whether or not you're moving... Other than that, it's a pretty amazing unit with a PLETHORA of options to suit your needs and desires.
