Good playerStrengths: Netflix, BD Live, Sleek design Weakness: Start up time is slow for BR discs I started looking for a next generation player this fall. I came across this one and liked the specs. Reviews were petty positive for it, so when i found it for $150, it became the player to have. Wife got it for me for Christmas and I had it hooked up to my receiver and the internet in less than an hour. Setup was a no-brainer. I immediately updated the software and proceeded to play with Netflix, CinemaNow and YouTube. Can't compare picture quality as my only BR disc is the Dark Knight which I had not seen before, but it looks great. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? LGBD370- worth the moneyStrengths: Regular DVD's look great, Netflix looks great (especially cartoons), YouTube feature is cool. Weakness: None so far. Just picked up this player yesterday and I have to say this is an excellent player. The regular DVD's look great on it. Popped a black-and-white DVD and you could actually see the snow. It was amazing! Netflix looks great on it, too. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Not 100% compatible with my Sony Bravia HDTVStrengths: Good price for a Netflix compatible Blu-ray Weakness: Static noise upon startup I purchased online thru Best Buy during Cyber Monday sale. The unit functions, but if you start it up without a blu-ray disc, you get static (noise-just like turning to a tv channel on an old tv that has nothing there) at the menu. Once you start a netflix movie, youtube video, etc; the static's gone. I sent into LG for repair, and they replaced the mainboard, and it still does it, so I have to assume it's an incompatibility issue with my Sony Bravia tv ... I'll most likely take over to my parents or brothers house someday, and hook up to their HDTV to know for sure. It's definitely a nuisance though. Other than that, it functions perfectly. Great reason to graduate to Blu Ray
Strengths: Cost-effective entre to Blu Ray and the built-in Netflix access is a fabulous freebie.
Weakness: Unlit remote (but what can you expect for $200).
I waited a long while to try Blu Ray after being burned by SACD. The dismal economy left me gun-shy about any new technology until I saw a Samsung out of box unit at Best Buy. Brought it home and it didn't work, of course (note to self, avoid Best Buy). Then I stopped at 6th Ave and saw this unit.
Some on-line reviews complained about picture quality, so I got an in-store demo - it looked fine/great to me so I grabbed one. Installation was a snap, and once I connected it to my FIOS router, Netflix setup took seconds.
In combination with Netflix (it cost $2 a month to add Blu Ray, which is a good deal IMHO) this is a great value. You get a large (but limited) library of films for no extra cost along with the great Blu Ray experience.
Summary: go buy one. For $200 you can't go wrong. OK, so it's more since you have to buy the HDMI cable, but a cheap one from BJ's is less than $20.
