Linksys WPC55AG Instant Wireless Adapter

Strengths: Easy to use & very portable

Weakness: Needed to update driver

I love this card. Easy to use and very portable. I needed to update the cards' driver before I could use WEP/WPA network encryption, but once that was done with I forgot I even had it, it works that well. Great product!

Linksys WPC55AG Instant Wireless Adapter

Strengths: We wanted a product which could be used with Airopeek wireless sniffer, and this product is known to work the best among the Atheros AR5001X+ chpiset-based cards.

Weakness: For home user: With included Packaged CD, the product fails to be recognized in Windows XP. One must download latest drivers from Linksys/Cisco website.

All in all, I would recommend the product because IT WORKS !!! (as long as you know where to get the drivers from , and how to install them right)

Good product for the money.

Strengths: Able to use most of the wreless networks available, especially those in hotels when I travel.

Weakness: A bit finicky during the installation phase.

Windows has an automatic install process that didn't work, so I ended up having to hand copy the access code from the host to the client before it would work. Since then it has performed well.

The transceiver head is too large to allow me to use the card in my lower PCMCIA port, so I have to choose between wireless connectivity or USB 2 ports. Fortunately, I do not need the added ports when I travel, so the impact for my application is minimal.

Linksys Dual-Band Wireless A+G-PC card Adapter

Strengths: good security (WPA) good card (Good signal strength)

Weakness: Installtion did not go smooth Conflicts with something on my computer Have to reinstall the card everytime I use it

I think this is a good card, but there is some conflict between the card and my card bus on my HP laptop. I have not done too much trouble shooting, but the card is usable if I mess in the device manager with my card bus driver.

Recommended.

Strengths: Works well with both Windows XP and Linux 2.6. Good reception and nice quality.

Weakness: None so far.

Works well with both Windows XP and Linux 2.6. Good reception and nice quality. I'm using this primarily with Debian-based Linux and it detects and connects with no problem. Works great with a Linksys G wifi router. No complaints and I would recommend buying this card.

Linksys WPC55AG Instant Wireless Adapter

Strengths: Versatility, good signal detection.

Weakness: Anomalous behaviour in status lights.

This card can get reception about 10-20 yards past either of the 802.11b cards I have previously used (your mileage may vary) on the 2.4 GHz band and can receive 5 GHz signals as well, a necessity when your home and business/school networks are on different frequencies. My only quibble is that the lights blink incessantly, whether connected or not, forcing one to look in the system tray for connection status. The manual says it should display a steady light when connected. I am trying to resolve this issue with tech support, but so far they seem flummoxed, too.

Linksys WPC55AG Instant Wireless Adapter

Strengths: Easy to setup

Weakness: 802.11B doesn't work very well but A & G work fine

Shipping was average for this site. The card was easy and straight forward to setup. 802.11A & G work fine. 802.11B doesn't work that good. Tested it with another WAP SMC brand.

Linksys WPC55AG Instant Wireless Adapter

Strengths: Dual band

Weakness: Large protruding antennae

Although not always the best reception (which could be the same maybe for any PCMCIA device like this), this dual-band 802.11 adaptor has helped me worldwide attach to many different networks.
