Never buy this piece of junk ??????? do not be fooled by the nice appearance
Before I buy this stand mixer with the legendary powerful motor I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews and I thought that my happiness would depend of buying it. Unfortunately, a little bit after I bought it my disappointment started. When I started to make bread dough, I had to continue it manually because the dough hook will not go down to the bottom and your dough would be inconsistent and the motor would stop after like3 or 4 minutes of kneading and in the manual they say if this happens you should shut the motor off for 10 minutes at least, and obviously it is more time saving to continue by hand. I never heard any of my friends who own the cheaper hand mixers complain about that. My disappointment was elevated even more after I purchased the pasta, grinder and juicer attachments. The pasta attachment was not useful at all. When the dough comes out it will be all stuck together. And for the juicer attachment I had to process like 5 lb of carrot in order to get less about 1 and a half cups of juice and the carrots remains will come out so moisture you know you could get a lot more juice out of them using a better juicer. Plus it was a lot of mess. There is no container for the remains and you will be ending up with your kitchen floor dyed with carrots no matter what you try to do. The grinder was the only useful attachment although the metal of which seemed to be very cheap, but it was working well, so I just stored away the pasta and juicer attachments and was using only the grinder. Whenever my husband used to ask me how well my stand mixer was working, I told him it was working great because I did not want to disappoint him after all the money that he paid. And finally my disappointment was at its peak when I was making some dough and all of a sudden the motor started sounding differently and it stopped from running. I had the mixer for a year and 2 or 3 months and I used it like 1or 2 times a month and I never expected that to happen after this short time with all this money I paid for it. I told my husband if I call the Viking Company, they will definitely do something to help me because they seemed to me as a company that respect themselves. However to my total disappointment, all what they said to me that I should ship my stand mixer to the service in another state and then they would tell me how much it will cost to repair it. I told the lady do you know how much I am going to pay for the shipping back and forth let alone the cost of repair. Probably, I will end up paying the same amount of money I paid to buy it. I told her also that now for me it is just a piece of garbage and I am not paying a single cent on it any more. And all what she could say is that she had one for years and it is still working.
My advise to everyone never buy this piece of garbage, when I was about to buy mine I read almost the same review about a women whose Viking stand mixer did the same but she was pretty lucky that it happened to her before her first year ( I guess because she used it for more than 2 times a month) and then I said to myself she must have abused it, but now I wish I had believed what she wrote and never bought mine in the first place and bought another cheaper brand instead of throwing ALL THIS MONEY INTO GARBAGGE. We were planning to move to a new house and I was thinking of buying our appliances and a grill from them but after my bad experience with my small appliance and with them as a company I will never even think about this brand again
