Mobile Light Force 2Strengths: Good shooting gameplay, good controls, extremely cheap everywhere Weakness: Horrible box art, somewhat short Mobile Light Force 2 is a surprisingly good shooter that came out at a budget price and is insanely cheap everywhere now. The box art is terrible and does not represent the gameplay at all. This game is a standard top down shooter where you maneuver through wave after wave of enemies while shooting everything in site. There is an interesting game mechanic where you are rewarded by being as close to your enemies as possible when you destroy them. I thought this was a pretty good idea for a shooter and I think it may have been incorporated to add some replay value since the game is pretty short. Other than that game has all the standard powerups you would expect in a shooter. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Mobile Light Force 2Strengths: Luckily the game inside of the case is not some cheap Charlie's Angels clone as you would expect from the cover art. Weakness: Not enough stages. The game's cover is a total misrepresntation of the game inside of the case. Mobile Light Force 2 is a budget-priced release of the Japanese shooter Shikigami no Shiro. XS games botched the translation a bit, but it's still a worthy game for the price. Being able to fire multiple types of shots adds greatly to the strategy. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Mobile Light Force 2Strengths: Arcade style action, Tension system, 6 characters to choose from Weakness: Cutscenes that were in the Japanese version of the game were taken out (called Shikigami no Shiro in Japan), game is abit short even for a shoot'em up Mobile Light Force 2 is a top view shooter game. It was called Shikigami no Shiro in Japan & was changed up abit for it's American release. One thing should be pointed out Mobile Light Force 1 which was released on the Playstation was called Gunbird in Japan & as strange as it may sound Gunbird & Shikigami no Shiro are not related at all even though they were ported over to the US as Mobile Light Force 1 & Mobile Light Force 2. Mobile Light Force 2 (ps2)
I am, by dint of a three-year gig at Working Designs, intimately familiar with the process of localizing Japanese video games for the North American market, so I understand why certain choices are made. Yet despite my gobs of experience, I couldn't begin to tell you what was going through the minds of the people at XS Games when they localized the seven-year-old PSX shoot-'em-up, Gunbird, and the... Strengths: fast game play, great shooter action
Weakness: not a very long game
Are you a fan of school shooters like in the golden days of the Genesis and the Super Nintendo? Lucky for you Play Station 2 owners, Mobile Light Force 2 is here. This game is a vertically scrolling shooter in which you choose from six different characters and blast away at some very bizarre enemies, like evil teddy bears, flying dolls, and other weird and wacky things and objects. All 6 characters are basically the same and differ only in subtle ways, like the types of charging attack that they unleash. There are three separate attacks one can use: rapid-fire shots, a charge attack similar to R-Type, and a super bomb that wipes out everything on screen. This last attack is especially useful when the screen is very crowded with tons of enemy bullets so that you are able to clear them out of your way and proceed. One unique aspect of the game is the Tension bonus system in which the closer you are to your enemies, the more damage you will do to them and the more points and coins you will earn. These coins will be used to power up your weapons and improve your shooting ability. This is a good game and I would get if you want to get your shooter fix on.
