dremel 400 6/90 "MONSTER"

Strengths: It does everything well

Weakness: It can bog down if to much force is applied

This is my 2nd Dremel, the first one last 20 years, then finally it burned out the sspeeed control witch. This 400 XPR is the "mac". I had to drill some holes out on a sheet of Stainless, no problem. HAd to cut off 4 stainless bolts to make shorter, no problem. This dremel hums along, like it's saying, "What else you got?"

I love the tool, there are more fittings than I need, and the price is "Right."

400-6/90 Dremel 400 series XPR rotary tool kit.

Strengths: The Dremel XPR 400-6/90 a top notch rotary tool with many important attachments and is good value for the money.

Weakness: Only provides a single saw blade and cutting tool. Many of the 90 accessories are so esoteric you will never use them.

I am delighted with this kit. The tool is one of Dremel's most versatile and powerful and the attachments make most home projects a lot easier. The tool box is impressive and well laid out and is easy to carry from one job to another.
Pricegrabber was by far the best value on the internet.

The right tool for condo living

Strengths: Galore of tools in one easy to organize box, can use non-dremel attachements.

Weakness: Have to take it easy to not overwork the tool.

This set is ideal for folks living in a condo and would like to save on contractors. This tool gives you the ability not only to do hobby stuff, but everyday projects that come up unexpectedly. Half the time we get someone to do work for us, not cause of lack of knowledge, but because we have to buy tools too. With the Dremel you get all the tools you need and for little cash (say 10 bucks) get any additional attachments. I feel the tool is sturdy enough to handle any job except the saw, which at time I had to pause cause I felt it was jamming. Spend at least 2 hours with the manuals BEFORE messing with it. It will help you not to be overwhelmed and pick the right tool if you look at all the booklets. The attachments are clearly labeled. The color coding system does work. I also love the fact that I an use non-dremel attachments (bits, saw blades etc) so you can use stuff you already have.

A very complete kit

Strengths: Versatility and convenience.

Weakness: Limited to hobby or light-duty jobs.

The Dremel 400 XPR 6/90 kit is remarkably full of features. This kit includes a lot of bells and whistles for the price (about $130) and additional add-ons are trivially easy to find.

I wanted a tool that could handle many of the tasks around the house as well as for my guitar building hobby. I looked at more powerful, but fairly single-purpose tools like laminate trimmers but the more research I did the more I found that the Dremel would most likely be the best tool for the job.

Everything is packed into a nicely compact plastic case with four separate bins for holding the many small bits. There is room in the case for a few more items but most of the slots are filled with this particular kit. I've never had such a versatile tool so I was happy to see an idea booklet came with it to inspire me. The tool itself feels solid and the whine of the motor at 35K RPM is something to behold! It will be some time before I explore all of the facets of this kit but at least on the surface it appears to be exactly what I needed.

Dremel 400 Series XPR Machine.

Strengths: Very durable with a lot of power. Very portable and easy to use!

Weakness: None

Great product and everyone should owe one. Can't live without it. Have used for all my projects. Wether it was building a model plane or fixing things around the house.

Ultimate Dremel Kit

Strengths: Well Designed, Complete Kit for all your needs.

Weakness: Flashlight runs on battery. I was under the impression it would connect to the dremel and run off the power from the dremel itself

Besides the flashlight this is an amazing Dremel Kit. I'm currently rewiring my house so this comes in handy when cutting holes in sheet rock.

I like all the attachments but my favorite would be the flex line. It really makes a difference in the quality of your work. I could never get the same amount of quality from my old generic Rotary tool. I would make a lot of mistakes because I just couldn't get the old tool at the right angle but with the new dremel and flex line I have no troubles at all.

Great Tool, Hope It Lasts !

Strengths: Awesome amount of uses and variety of attachments available.

Weakness: Even with the "90" attachments, many commonly needed parts (ie: extra size collets) are not included, and need to be purchased separately. Carrying case is SO crammed tight, it's not practical.

I would recommend this product highly for hobbyists and many basic home repairs. I would NOT recommend this product for more heavy construction work, such as cutting holes in dry wall,( as they claim is possible), unless you're up for replacing the motor - I could tell after first use in this regard, (even with following all the warnings about not forcing the cut, to let the blade work by itself), the motor would not take the strain for very long. Otherwise, it's a really versatile and valuable addition to my tool inventory.

Dremel 400 Tool - Great Value!

Strengths: Tool is light weight, very portable, powerful for size easy to use and control.

Weakness: Many of the accessories not practical and will not be used. Should include additional collets, cutting accessories and drill bits. Including a chuck would also be good.

Tool and accessories are a great value. Should have option to include plunge router attachment. Accessories should be packaged separately in plastic cases by use in addition to the color code. My son is an architect major and this tool kit has saved him many hours in completing a number of his project assignments.

Dremel XPR 400-6/90 kit

Strengths: best model Dremel makes

Weakness: accessories are pretty light in the carving area

The Dremel 400-6/90 kit includes the best model Dremel makes. The kit also includes 6 attachments, 90 accessories and a decent storage case.
Unless you really have your heart set on a cordless, get this kit. This Dremel has plenty of power and there are so many things you can do with it.
6 attachments: 1)XPR planer 2)Multisaw (a small recipricating saw) 3)circle cutter 4)flexible shaft (my favorite) 5)cutting guide & 6) flexible light which clips onto the 400.
This is a great kit. It gets you pretty much everything you need all in one kit. The flexible shaft is my favorite attachment. My son and I built his pinewood derby car with this kit. Bit #194 (included) is great for shaping wood.
Carry case is nice, if nothing else just to keep everything in one place after the job is done.
Of the 90 accessories, there are a lot of cutting, grinding, sanding & polishing items, but it is pretty light in the carving area.
I love it and would buy this same kit again.

Excellent Dremel Kit

Strengths: Does all your cutting and shaping jobs very well. Great value for the price.

Weakness: Can bog down if apply too much force.

More for the hobby person than heavy duty work. An excellent starter for your hobby or for light work around the home or business. Definitely recommend Dremel a proven brand name. Only time will tell as too how long it will perform but right out of the box it is outstanding!!

Too much is never enough

Strengths: 6 attachments with so many accessories

Weakness: Needs more attachments in the kit, like the 568 Grout Removal and 670 mini saw.

This kit does not get 5 stars. However, I would give 6 stars to the rotary tool. It's a great tool and absolutely necessary if you like to use elbow grease :)
I will probably never use all the accessories packed in this kit. I wish it had more attachments in this kit. The attachments makes this tool very useful, no matter what you are doing. You would have to pay much more to buy these attachments separately.
