Drink a lot of Coffee.

Strengths: * Solid basic design* Keeps coffee hot for an incredibly long time * Easy to operate

Weakness: For the price I would have expected a bit more. A built in water filter or a removable water reservoir for easy filling would have been a

Had this thing for about 6 months now. I am just now doing the recommended monthly cleaning cycle. Its been great. The best coffee maker I have owned. The number one thing I like about it is carafe\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s valve on the lid. It somehow allows the coffee in but not out until you pour a cup. This keeps the coffee hot for a long time and doesn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t allow the water to evaporate while seated in the maker.

Best Coffee Maker

Strengths: Great coffee, excellent Company, attractive, works very well. Easy to use and ready to go when you need your coffee.

Weakness: Have not experienced any weaknesses with this coffee maker.

I have had a Cuisinart coffee maker now for 6 years and it was always a great coffee maker. Never had any problems or complaints. Recently, I experienced difficulty with feeling in my hands and wanted a stainless steel pot that would not break if I dropped of hit the carafe. This is the only reason I got another coffee maker. Will cleanup the old Cuisinart and sell at a garage sale.

Makes a mess, poor design

Strengths: Pretty

Weakness: Icky mess; doesn't keep coffee hot for long, can't rewarm coffee, hard to clean, no clock or program memory, tricky to align filter basket, can't steal a cup while brewing

Followed instructions perfectly and completely: hot coffee went all over the counter (and beyond), overflowed filter basket; "brew pause" feature didn't shut off when carafe removed, making bigger mess; can't reheat the carafe later (no heater plate); can't remove basket-holder to rinse (unlike our Krups unit); carafe cannot be immersed for cleaning (unlike any other carafe or pot we've seen); instructions say unit must be unplugged when not in use, yet this forces you to reset the clock and reprogram the timer when it is to be used the next day; black interior reservoir is difficult to inspect and clean; filter basket does not "stand" by itself, so coffee grounds are certain to be sprinkled inside the machine when pouring from grinder cup; filter basket fits poorly into basket holder and requires "wiggling" to properly seat; all working parts and lid appear to be cheap plastic with fragile hinges. A very disappointing unit for $100.

In fairness, this is only a partial review to be...

Strengths: Solid carafe and main body. The lid to the carafe was damaged in shipping so we have been unable to use it thus far. However, Cuisinart's customer service was happy to send a replacement lid for free.

Weakness: Can be damaged during shipment.

Like I mentioned, it's only partial until I receive the new lid. I don't expect any problems with the performance though and if performance was inadequate, I feel certain Cuisinart would do whatever possible to resolve the issue promptly and to my satisfaction!
