BB-GTA150B

Strengths: Gain an extra line using VOIP; Speakerphone in handset; Backlit Keypad; Clarity of sound when within range limits

Weakness: Range is not what I expected of 5.8GHz but I am pushing the stated limits of this frequency.

See my review for the BB-GT1540B.

This is an excellent phone for home/office use. The voice over IP provider (JOIP) has very reasonable packages if you elect to go with a full featured VOIP phone service. The VOIP feature provides a reasonable way to gain another line at less cost. The clarity of the base unit speakerphone is excellent. I rarely use the speakerphone in the handset but I've tried it and it is good as well. Intercom feature works well and is quite handy. The handsets also have a very clear LCD and backlit keypads. The LCD lights up Orange when the VOIP line is selected and Green when the standard Telephone line is selected. I find the features available in this phone to be an incredible value.

I have the base unit in my home office which is just about the furthest point from the living room and kitchen areas. This is the reason that I'm having issues with the range. I would simply move the base unit but I like the base unit speakerphone and prefer to have the base in my office. Not a major problem but probably solved if they make this phone in a DECT 6.0 frequency. I hear that frequency has much better range than 5.8GHz.

All-in-all, this is an excellent phone with a ton of features and I would highly recommend it.
