battery chargerThis is a really nice thing to have. Not only does it save you money on disposable batteries, but I bought them for power failures. I'll always have batteries on hand. Monster Cable is an excellent brand. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Monster Cable Battery ChargerStrengths: Portable, does not have to be cycled, trickle charge Weakness: Batteries included are only 1850ma The 4 hour charge time does not bother me. I think the faster chargers generate too much heat and shorten battery life. The cost of nimh has lowered to where I carry several sets and leave one charging. This charger has worked on several brands of nimh batteries both cheap and expensive with different capacity ratings. I leave the cover open to reduce heat although it is probably useful to protect contacts when not in use. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great product, just need a little updating.
Strengths: Small, compact size. Worldwide voltage. Charges AA and AAA batteries. Comes with 4 AA NiMh batteries. Status LED lights up in different colors. Charges both NiMh AND NiCd batteries.
Weakness: Only comes with 1850mAh batteries. 4+ hour charge time.
I got this charger for my Canon S3 IS digital camera and so far it's been everything I needed. The small, compact size means it's easy to carry it around with me when I travel. Unlike some other brands of compact chargers, I don't have to worry about blowing it up because the outlet was a different voltage than the US standard (120v). The charger trickle charges when the batteries are fully charged so I will always have a fresh set of batteries available.
The only drawbacks of this charger is the 4+ hour charge times and how it only comes with 1850mAh AA batteries. It should have at least 2500mAh batteries for the price some places want for this charger!
This charger is worth it's price only if you can get it for less than $10 because of the outdated batteries and cheap plastics.
