Wastes roll everytime machine on/off

Strengths: fits the machine

Weakness: wastes rollo everytime the machine is turned on/off

I gusee this review may be more relevant to the fax machine itself than the ink film. The roll spins and is wasted everytime the machine is turned off/on. Also it seems to waste film in between documents. The documents themselves are clear and crisp but I wish it didnt waste so much.

Weakness: The film oftern rips apart and a new film is needed to use fax machine

Strengths: This fax ribbon is of very high quality

Weakness: Cost is a little high

If you don't want any problems, this is the ribbon to stick with. So long as you shop around, the cost per page is not completly outrageous.

Strengths: relatively inexpensive compared to other film types

Weakness: doesnt last very long

Recommend purchasing the generic film b/c you save more than half the price of the Panasonic brand. It performs the same. Would be nice if it could be recycled, or be able to print on other side of film - b/c if your fax is used heavily, it doesnt last very long - however is perfect for light usage faxing.

Strengths: can rewind back to reuse

Weakness: not as clear copy as inkjet

This cartridge is easy to take out and replace with new one. Copy printing is not always as clear as the inkjet. The number of copies that can be printed are listed on the box, an advantage that inkjet does not have. Product is good for home and light business use.

Genuine always works!

Strengths: Easy to install. Genuine Panasonic, made by Panasonic, made for Panasonic.

Weakness: High cost.

After examining the market looking for a replacement film roll for our Panasonic KX-FHD331 Fax/Copier machine, based on my poor experience using non-genuine refill cartridges for inkjet printers, I decided to purchase the Genuine Panasonic KX-FA93 film roll. Of course, it's recommended by Panasonic for the machine, so you have a little better peace of mind if you worry about that sort of thing. Installation was very simple as the two cores (one for the new film and one for the used film) simply are dropped into the machine. We used to turn the machine on only when needed, but it sounds like the film roll may be tightening up the slack each time you turn on the machine, so in order to not risk losing good unused film, we are going to leave the machine on all the time from now on. We got close to the specified number of pages from the trial Panasonic roll (10 meters), so we expect close to the specified number of pages (225) for this full-size roll, which is 70 meters of film. The retail price is high considering the cost of the fax/copier machine itself, but you can save by searching the Internet for a good deal.

Panasonic KX-FA93 Review

Strengths: No smears, legible jet-black color, easy to insert, 225 pages seem to last a while (mild-moderate use).

Weakness: Too expensive, no multi-pack discount.

The cost of the refill (~$25 from Office Depot) was one third the price of the fax machine, which is almost as bad as printer cartridges being almost as expensive as their respective printers. I will try to find generic brands and compare legibility. Hopefully they'll work just as fine...? Even though it's an original Panasonic refill, I gave it three stars because of the high price.
