Great product!

Strengths: Lots of space, good quality, stable, quiet, sleek, good backup utility, and cheap when I bought it.

Weakness: Usb 2.0 is a little slow. takes up desk space (not stackable).

I got an awesome deal with these! Got 2 on clearance for super cheap and I've been very happy so far. I use one for backups and use the included backup utility which works very well, and one is used for random storage. I wouldn't use these for applications or anything that needs really fast speeds, but for backups or files that don't need constant access, it works great! The only thing is I'm running out of USB slots on my PC and these two are taking up a bunch of extra desk space since I can't stack them on top of eachother.

Seagate 750gb freeagent exteranl hd

Strengths: Large space, quiet, fast

Weakness: none

Seagate 750gb freeagent USB 2.0 external hard drive is an good choice for me especially for its 5 year warranty. I used to buy internal hard drive and enclosure to make external hard drive by myself since the external hard drive used to have only 1 year warranty while internal hard drive has 3-5 year warranty. Now, seagate has extended external hard drive's warranty to 5 years, so there is no point to buy internal one and enclsoure to make it. The hard drive is also quiet. USB trasfer speed is high considering it is 7200rpm and 16mb cache. Inside is a SATA drive.

The Best Hard Drive Ever

Strengths: Portability/capacity/error free/nicelooking

Weakness: NONE!!!

Per usual Seagate is the 'Ruler' when it comes to hard drives! I have used all the different brands over the many years and have concluded there is no better hard drive on the market than Seagate offers! Never any maintenance problems, always good looking (the external drives like this one) & when it comes to innovations, Seagate is always miles ahead of the competition! I will never buy another brand of hard drive from here on - - - EVER!!!

Decent drive

Strengths: 5 year warranty

Weakness: A bit bulky on my desktop

I purchased this from Fry's for about $110 because of its large capacity and 5 year warranty. I mainly use it as a backup for media files. So far I have not encountered any problems. It does get hot if left on for a long time, but as I mentioned I only use it for short durations. The eSATA, USB and Firewire connectivity is a handy feature as well. The on/off button is not particularly intuitive but this is a minor complaint.

Huge Storage in a Compact Drive

Strengths: Huge Storage Space, Lean harddrive, fit anywhere

Weakness: none so far

I have bought this hard drive to replace my Western Digital Elements 500GB external hard drive. Elements hard drive was also a stylish, compact drive but was getting too hot. This harddrive on the other hand does not get hot and it is a lean upright standing unit and basically fits anywhere on my computer table. This harddrive does not have a firewire connection but then again I did not need one. It is a USB 2.0 compatible unit. I recommend to everyone as long as the price is reasonable. I have bought it at fry's electronics for the price of a 500 GB harddrive and I am really happy with it
