Excellent PerformerStrengths: Large hard drive, fast processor Weakness: None Overall this is a great machine and value. Windows Vista Premium runs well with the included 2GB of RAM. The LCD is bright and clear. The design of the laptop is nice compared to other machines in this category. Good System
Strengths: Lightweight, good size hard drive, easy to use. Good computer for students.
Weakness: Could use a bit more memory. Network card drivers not compatible with Windows XP. Speakers are "eh".
I was very pleased with the hardware of the product. My one and only issue is that since I don't like Vista I attempted to put WindowsXP on it. I only learned after the fact that the network card drivers are compatible only with Vista. So it was either go back to Vista, or get a new network card. I put Vista back on, but did have some issues getting the network card to reinitialize.
My only other quip would be if you are running Vista on this machine, max out the RAM to give you a decent running speed. It has a great processor and HD. The speakers are "fair", nothing a good set of headphones can't fix.
I am a grad student and purchased this as an upgrade to my desktop due to I wanted something faster and that I could use anywhere. Overall even in spite of my issues with the network card, I have been very pleased with my new laptop. I don't know that I would recommend it for a work system, but for me and my needs it works great.
