Good value, problem with contrast adjustmentStrengths: good value Weakness: problem with contrast adjustment I just got this monitor (Feb 14 '08) and the colors were definitely washed out. The DCR made a little bit of difference, but not enough. Without DCR, noticed that the contrast adjustment does not really do anything. When I tried to adjust this monitor using the XP display driver controls (Settings->Advanced), wow, what a difference. I could actually adjust the contrast and the display is perfect! Now, going back to the monitor, I looked at the contrast setting there and is was 65050 (!!), which is way higher than the monitor itself lets you set ( 100% of readers found this review helpful. Sceptre monitor is fantasticStrengths: This monitor is wide.....very wide,,,so wide I am going to have to buy a better desk to set it on. Its like looking at and HDTV on my desk. Weakness: none at all This LCD monitor is my second Sceptre monitor. My first one is a 19" and this one has some better picutre quality and is most definitely wider so I can see the whole picture. I am very pleased
Strengths: It's big, it's sharp, it's got good color. And zero dead pixels.
Weakness: Controls are not intuitive. Took a bit to find how to turn on DCR (Dynamic Contrast)
I wanted an LCD to replace my two monitor setup. I found it annoying to have a break separating the working area. At native resolution, this monitor does that just fine. I was a bit concerned as I saw several reviews complaining about "washed out colors", but then I caught a couple saying that handled with DCR. When the monitor first came up, the colors did seem washed out. I finally found how to turn DCR on, and voila!, nice bright vibrant colors. I'm pleased to get this quality at a bargain price.
