Kessen 2Strengths: Good atmosphere, good strategy. Weakness: Can get boring. Kessen II is a strategy game that lets you get close in on the action as oposed to some of KOEI's other offerings (Romance of the Three Kingdoms). If you like strategy games, especially ones set in an early chinese time period you will love this game. If not at least give it a try you might find something to like about it. Kessen IIStrengths: Better than the original Kessen Weakness: Not as good as Kessen III Middle children always have it rough--they don't have the freshness of being the youngest, nor the nostalgia of being the eldest. The same is true of Kessen II. On the one hand, it's vastly superior to the original, featuring much smoother gameplay, nicer graphics, stronger cinemas, the works. The problem is that it just does not hold a candle to the recently released Kessen III. The Kessen series in general is Koei's weird mix of their hack-and-slash series (Dynasty Warriors) and their strategy series (Romance of the Three Kingdoms)... the problem is that, thus far, Kessen has just been a plain ol' disappointing mess that has yet to live up to the legacy of either of its parents. Kessen 2
Strengths: Mix of strategic and tactical combat. Decent graphics and sound for a game of it's age.
Weakness: Can become dull.
Kessen II is placed during the Three Kingdoms era of China. There are quite a few games placed in that setting. So this isn't that original. But it's a nice mix between the strategic and tactical games placed during that era. Sorta a mix between Dynasty Warriors and the Romance series. It's a good game but like most combat games it can get dull, battle after battle. The game looks and sounds good for an older PS2 title.
