Strengths: None to speak of, compared with current drives
Weakness: High rate of head crashes
IBM's Deskstar business was sold off to Toshiba, after a disastrous track record beginning with the 75GXP series. High rates of head crashes were reported, resulting in a lawsuit. It emerged that later versions of their HDDs, including the 120GXP series, are also prone to crashes. Considering the track-record, an the availability of larger capacity drives on the market, I would shoot for a Maxtor, Seagate or Western Digital.
