Exactly as ExpectedStrengths: Provides a very small, very portable speaker mechanism for iPod Weakness: Tinny sound The product functions as described. Nothing more, nothing less. Only those customers who have a solid understanding of electronic components should purchase this tiny speaker system. The decibel level is low as should be expected from a component that runs on a single AA battery. Purchase this item for personal use only; it's an excellent substitute for earpieces which I dislike and cannot use. It is not meant to provide stereo quality sound for a roomful of people! 80% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A speaker that does its job.Strengths: Good for studying, etc. where you don't need wires tangling up your music experience. Weakness: Batteries die slowly. It starts at a low buzz and then deteriorates to nothing. Easy to accidentally leave it on. The Podware is good. It's just a pair of speakers, and there's not much else it can do besides output sound. Gets the job done: it lets you listen to whatever you want without wires. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? They do the trickStrengths: Size, relative integrity of sound. Weakness: Size, volume limitations. The portable stereo speakers have been a great way to listen to my iPod in the office and home office (since the stereo is in another room). I usually have to turn the volume almost all the way to hear it, but once I have, I often can hear it from the other room! So it functions as a stereo for a small room. Macally IPOD portable stereo speaker review.Strengths: Portability and easy on "gas" (batteries). Weakness: Somewhat cheezy sound for the price. I don't like headphones and I like earbuds even less (uncomfortable and hard on the ol' auditory nerves). This little item enables me to get speakers just about anywhere including my portable mp3 player and even a portable radio and old portable cassette player. They are plastic but seem good and sturdy. macally 3000 Series 1529L LCD Touchscreen MonitorStrengths: Decent Quality Sound and Cheap Weakness: Good quality for the size but you cant expect alot from speakers this small. I got it for free after rebates so this is an excellent deal (obviuosly). I wouldn;t pay a whole lot for this but it's worth close to the price. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

macally 3000 Series 1529L LCD Touchscreen Monitor
Strengths: Portable
Weakness: Sounds like the AM radio in my 1970 Oldsmobile
An online store recently had a free after rebate offer on the Podwave, version 2. Well, almost free. Shipping was a little over $8. As the owner of three iPods I figured why not give it a try.
My PodWave came in no time and I quickly broke open the package, inserted the included battery, and put it on my iPod mini. Anticipation set in as I flipped to a song with a wide range. And then I pressed "play," and a sound I had not heard since the 1970s poured out. I was depressed I even spend $8 on the PodWave.
The sound was weak and tinny. Honestly, my headphones sitting on my desk, and pumped up on high volume fill up a room and sound better. I was flabbergasted that something this expensive (it does retail for $30) could sound so terrible, so I decided the battery had to be near death. I put in a fresh battery, and it was a little louder, but just as wimpy. Next I thought, maybe it will work better with my iPod photo. So I removed the PodWave from my mini and put it on my photo. The difference was nil. I switched to high bitrate encoded songs and still only sounds a tone deaf dog could appreciate.
I tried my hardest to find out a legitimate reason the PodWave sounded so miserable. But despite all of my problem solving, the result was the same: terrible sound. So my recommendation is don't buy these at any price, even free.
