Mario Kart: Super Circuit GBAStrengths: Great graphics, tight control, SNES tracks can be unlocked and it's Mario Kart for pete's sake! Weakness: Fans of Mario Kart 64 may not like the old school mechanics, not enough multi-player elements. It was great to see Nintendo harken back to its' DSP chip and Mode 7 roots with Mario Kart: Super Circuit. Although I loved the heck out of Mario Kart 64 (especially for the 4-player battles), there was something missing from the single player experience. But with Super Circuit, Nintendo fixes all these flaws from the N64 version. First of all, your skill actually determines how well you will place at the end. In MK64, it seemed almost random and haphazard as the computer would "cheat" and suddenly catch up to you. While this may make the game more interesting (i.e. close finishes), it was completely frustrating to those who used their course knowledge and skill to get out to a lead, only to get screwed by the cheap A.I. catching up mechanics during the final lap and place fourth. Also back is the hop button (how I have missed you!). All the courses from the SNES version can be unlocked, although I must warn they been butchered somewhat. But just having these courses available again is cool. I found myself playing these courses more then the new ones. I guess it comes down to which style of Mario Kart you prefer. If you like the old school SNES action, then you MUST buy this game. If you're a Mario Kart 64 fan, however, then this may not be your cup of tea. Either way, Mario Kart fans win out! Mario Kart: Super Circuit GBAStrengths: its mario kart! Weakness: none This game is great. the multiplayer is really good. Battle mode and time races are great. The old SNES tracks that are included are very nostalgic. The game plays the same as the super nes original. A must have for any mario kart fan and a great game overall. Mario Kart: Super Circuit GBAStrengths: Suprisingly good. Challenging, fun, and with plenty of courses. Weakness: Fans of Mario Kart 64 may be disappointed to see that it's more like Super Mario Kart than anything else. Back when Nintendo thought it might be fun to make a go-kart racing game with their characters, nobody expected it to be one of their flagship franchises. Now, you'll probably never see another system without a Mario Kart to its name, and the GBA installment doesn't disappoint. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Mario Kart: Super Circuit GBAStrengths: Good Old 7 Mode Scrolling Feeling :), Good Replay for a Kart Racer, Multiplayer with only 1 Cart Weakness: Harder then console Mario Karts not all bad but might be somewhat of a turn off to more casual gamers, Multiplayer is limited if you don't have a copy of the game for every GBA linked up Super Mario Kart was a pure classic on the SNES, the start of the Kart Racing genre & was a no brainer that Nintendo would release it for the GBA. I have never been able to find out exactly how the turbos you get sometimes after sliding works (maybe I should look it up in the manual but I like trying to figure these kinda things out) but it is a good example of how Nintendo has added new ideas to the game & didn't just whip out cheap Mario Kart for the GBA & a shining example of why other companies have used ideas first used in Nintendo games for years. If you liked Mario Kart (what gamer doesn't) then it is mandatory to get this game if you own a GameBoy advance. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Mario Kart Super Circuit
Classic Mario Kart action is back once again, this time in a colorful, lightning-fast game that you can take anywhere. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Wario, Yoshi and Bowser are all tearing up the track, tossing Koopa Shells and laying banana peels along the way. <p> Top

Mario Kart Super Circuit
Strengths: Best kart racing game on the GBA
Weakness: Graphics somewhat dated when compared to Mario Kart Double Dash on the GC and the upcoming Mario Kart DS
Mario Kart Super Circuit is a great title for being an older GBA game. It captures the Mario Kart look and feel very well - though from the SNES era and not from the more polished Gamecube version. Having played the GC version first, I found the graphics and control on the Gameboy somewhat limiting.
Hopefully the upcoming Mario Kart DS will remedy much of this (the graphics at least - the control will probably be similar). However, if you only have a GBA or GBA SP (and not a DS) this is an excellent title that allows you to bring the Mario Kart experience on the road, so to speak.
