A cheap BT headset

Strengths: Good quality on audio sound and BT link

Weakness: Bad battery type – AAAA , no rechargeable battery available currently.

Comparing with other more expensive BT headsets, I have not seen the big difference on the audio quality between them, except volume control. It is very much worth the dollars I spent for the headset. But AAAA battery is a long term painful cost for BT2040 user, which price is much higher than AA or AAA battery. This headset has never been used since the first battery was exhausted (about 50 days ago).

Jabra BT2040 Cell Phone Head Set

Strengths: Inexpensive, sound pickup good, reception good, light, fit

Weakness: a little flimsy

I don't really like things growing out of my ear, but it comes in handy to roam. I use it for Skype and not in a car so I can't relate to outside noise interference. I use a phone with my desktop and the Jabra with my laptop with Bluetooth. It travels well.
I've seen complaints about the little AAAA battery and being scarce. Mine is still alive but I have seen a place in Katy TX called Best Byte (2 batteries for $2.25+shipping)I also learned that 9 Volt batteries are 6 AAAA batteries in a casing. There's even a video online on how to pry open the 9 Volt and it's litter of 6 AAAA!

Small & reliable, Jabra is getting better

Strengths: Small, comfortable, and goes into ear (not just near the ear).

Weakness: Volume, connection delays, and heavier because of battery.

First, this is a AAAA battery-operated headset. My Jabra BT150 and BT125 are both rechargeable, which I definitely prefer. Battery-operated requires you to buy AAAA batteries (which aren't used for anything else I have) and keep a replacement battery on hand. My rechargeable headsets don't require anything but themselves, and I just have to plug them in overnight every couple of days. In addition, the battery adds to the weight (if only slightly) of the BT2040, which makes it slightly less comfortable and less balanced than my rechargeable headsets.
--------------------
On the other hand, the design of the earpiece is better than both the BT150 and BT125. The BT2040 actually goes into your ear, which definitely helps to overcome the volume issues so often experienced with headsets. In contrast, the BT150 and BT125 merely sit close to your ear, and make it difficult to even know how the earpiece should be angled for optimal sound, which is seriously frustrating. In this, the BT2040 is preferable.
--------------------
But as with other Jabra headsets, the volume is still insufficient. Maybe they are worried about being sued for damaging people's eardrums, but I'm really tired of the pathetic highest volume on these headsets.
--------------------
Lastly, the price is very nice. Bluetooth headsets are grossly overpriced, but this one is quite inexpensive, especially for a brand-name headset.
--------------------
In short, get the Jabra BT2040 headset if you'll be happy with a reliable battery-operated headset with mediocre volume at a very nice price. Otherwise, go with a rechargeable at least, and ideally with a brand that actually gives you good volume control.

Good deal on a decent Bluetooth mobile phone headset

Strengths: Small, light, easy to use and very affordable.

Weakness: Use hard to find AAAA size battery.

This is one of the cheapest Bluetooth headset available in the market right now. This headset is very easy to use by just inserting a battery and then pairing it with the phone. It is small and light. The sound quality is good. The only complaint is that it uses AAAA battery which is very hard to find and expensive. But if you don't mind about it, this is a good deal.

Affordable and reliable BT headset

Strengths: Good quality on audio sound and BT link I have used this for about two months and really like it.

Weakness: Uses hard to find and expensive AAAA size batteries

I have this bluetooth headset for about two months. So far it works very well. The voice quality is good and it does not echo. It is also very light and comfortable to put on my ear.

Good headset, bad battery size

Strengths: No need for charging. Long term use. Fairly comfortable.

Weakness: Odd size battery, hard to find.

BT2040 wireless Bluetooth headset from Jabra is a fairly good Bluetooth headset that can be acquired for cheap, sometimes with rebates. The headset does not use Lithium battery or any other type of rechargeable battery, it uses Alkaline battery, so there is no need to charge to use it. The headset uses low battery power when in use and does not seem to use much power when not in use, resulting in good long term use with just one change of battery. The design of the headset is fairly comfortable around the ear and does not feel weird when wear/using it.

The major flaw of this headset is the battery. It does include battery when purchased, but the battery is AAAA size and seems to be made by Energizer. The battery size is odd and not really sold at every place, only some places that carry tons of batteries MIGHT have the correct size.

Overall, Jabra BT2040 Bluetooth headset is a well made and fairly comfortable headset, but due to its odd size and hard to find battery, it becomes a poor headset of choice. Before purchasing this headset, it might be good to find the battery first, if ever need a replacement.

Great headset

Strengths: clear, loud voice, cheap price,

Weakness: instruction

I had problem to pair the headset with my cell phone first until I went to the website to find out that the button needs to be pressed for 10 seconds to get the solid light instead of 3-5 seconds. The headset is better than the wired earbud came with the phone. The voice is very clear to both ends. There was sometimes statics but gone when nothing was between the phone and headset. It has no volume adjustment and you can only use the phone to adjust it. But it's not a big deal because the voice is loud enough. I'm very happy with it.

Cheap BT2040 bluetooth headset

Strengths: Great price, small works smoothly with all cell phone support bluetooth.

Weakness: As most people mentioned the AAAA battery is rare to find. Since I only used it in the car when driven, not sure how long this battery can last.

The headset is working fine with my cell phone, but sometime I do hear noise from the the set and hard to hear otherside
voice clearly. Is it due to other interference? The headset clip is not easy to keep in the position especially you have
eye glass and thick hair, that is one reason I am not use it
a lot only in the car due to the new law for hand free driving.
Overall I think this one is good choice if you are not a heavy user of the headset. It is a bargain.

Jabra BT2040 review - not worth it unless you get it...

Strengths: Small size , reasonable battery consumption

Weakness: non-rechargeable and non-standard AAAA battery , not very compatible with all devices, ear clip is very thin and can break easily

I mainly bought this because it was on sale at low price
and so did not expect much from this product - but to my surprise it did work fine for its basic purpose including reasonable battery - mine has lasted for more than 2 weeks - but my usage is low (< 20mins per day avg).

I also like that this is smaller than several other products I came across (some of which look real ghastly like startrek masks). The volume is not bad though it is not the best.

I tried to pair it with several devices and had mixed
results - it worked well with nokia phones (3650, 2610)
but would not pair with my lenovo laptop or a friend's
pda (palm) as they could not detect the headset.

A couple of negative aspects however are significant :

1. The set uses AAAA battery size which is pretty much
non-standard and so is difficult to get both normal
or rechargeable batteries and that is a major issue
- what is the use of it if we cannot find batteries?
2. The ear clip is very thin and can easily break
- again, once that breaks these things are pretty
much useless.

So my recommendation is to try it only if you get it on some super sale unless you have a good AAAA battery source.

Cheap but Nice bluetooth headset

Strengths: easy to connect &

Weakness: AAAA battery-operated

My friend recommended this Jabra BT2040 bluetooth headset to me when she bought it, and she said it is a good deal. She is right, compared to wired headsets in the $20 range ,it is a good deal, especailly for the famous Jabra.

It's very easy and quickly to connect my Sony Ericsson cellphone, and easy to use.

BT2040 is a small one and light and comfortable goes into your ear.

The voice is clear but sometime it is a little delay at the beginning.

It is not a rechargeable headset and it is use AAAA battery, which is hard to find. If you do not mind the battery it is quite a good deal for you.

BT2040 Bluetooth Headset

Strengths: Small and easy to connect

Weakness: Sound quality and AAAA battery

It was easy to get started insert the battery then pair with the phone and it started working. The sound quality is not very good. Is heavier than my other rechargable Bluetooth headset and this one uses AAAA battery which is not that popular and easily available.

Basic bluetooth for less dough.

Strengths: Price! This thing is very lightweight and comfortable. It simply works. In California these (hands free cell use) will be required while driving (FINALLY!!!) so get 'em while their hot.

Weakness: The clip is very fragile. I thought it was the kind that flipped to the other side like my other one, but clearly I see now it spins around the hinge. Mine bent and nearly broke. oops!

Jabra is a leading provider of bluetooth technology so you can be fairly certain that it will be recognized by your mobile devices. If you are looking for basic functionality with a very small learning curve, this is the one for you.

Jabra BT2040 Buetooth Mobile Phone Headset - Small,...

Strengths: Light, great value, easy of use, replaceble battery

Weakness: AAAA battery is hard to find

I found this headset is the one of most affordable product out in the market. This headset is small and easy to put on ear. The voice is great. The volume could be better if you are in noisier area.

However, this headset requires an AAAA battery because this headset is not re-chargeable. This could become inconvenient if you don't have AAAA batteries handy.

If you prefer a small headset and don't bother by AAAA battery, this is the headset you might want to have.

Decent headset, Great price

Strengths: Initial pairing was fast and easy and the connection holds well. On/off time is quick so I can leave it turned off and in the car until I get call. Unit is comfortable and fits fine.

Weakness: Speaker quality is great; I'm told voice quality is OK but not great. That's exactly what I'd expect for the lowest cost bluetooth headset on the market.

I am 100% satisfied with the headset. It does just what I expected, no more no less. It does not have a lot of features -- I didn't want any. It has good but not excellent voice quality -- I got what I paid for. I recommend it.

Great value and excellent item

Strengths: Ease of use, Price, replaceable battery

Weakness: Included instructions

This is my first bluetooth headset and I am very happy with it. It has good sound quality and is very easy to use. Some people like rechargeable better, but I like the fact that if I am away from home I can just pop a fresh battery in and keep going.
The initial pairing was very easy and was covered by the instructions which basically tell you how to:

1) Insert the battery
2) Pair with phone
3) Answer / End call

It does not mention two other things that I have discovered, which are that it is compatible with voice dialing (if your phone offer this feature) and there is a redial feature accessible by pressing the call/end button for approximately 2-3 seconds.

What a deal!

Strengths: Cheap. Good sound compared to wired headsets in the $20 range I usually use (I've never used a Bluetooth). No charging. Can keep a spare battery with you and use it if needed. Stays on.

Weakness: To person called, sounds tiny and far away but no worse than my wired one with a boom. Sits in ear. Even with earloop may make it sore. If battery is wrong-way-round it overheats.

I haven't tried any other bluetooth headsets but this seems adequate. My husband (tested as the person called) hates being called from headsets and said this is no worse than my usual ones (we compared). However, he said it was much clearer without the headset. My five year old said it sounded "wah wah wah" but could hold a conversation.

For me, it was much clearer WITH the headset than with the handset and even music sounded ok. I really only want to listen to books and podcasts, though (in addition to making calls).

I like its form factor and the fact it uses a battery so I can easily pack a spare (they're tiny) and not mess with remembering to charge yet another gadget. I was able to find replacement batteries at the grocery store which put to rest another concern of mine. It also thoughtfully came with one (name brand to boot).

I have small ear canals and never liked earbuds and my husband is resentful of the sound of headsets, so I may yet buy/try a more expensive one locally and relegate this one to being a backup but, for what it is, this headset is a fantastic deal.

my critique on the BT 2040 Wireless Cell Phone...

Strengths: the design in itself looks impressive and is a big draw-on. the volume is just about right.not too soft.not too loud.just right. i was amazed it still was light in weight.not heavy at all.

Weakness: To initially remove the battery cover takes strength and patience. Please improve this so it can easily slide on and off.To turn the bluetooth power off at an instant takes patience too.more than 5sec.

The number one feature i like is AFFORDABILITY.AT LESS THAN 20 DOLLARS THIS IS A STEAL!
THE fact that it is bluetooth 2.0 makes this HARD TO RESIST!
tHE FACT THAT I HATE CHARGING EVERY NOW AND THEN also is a plus-factor for jabra BT2040.
Long stand-by time makes it appealing too.
To power it off they say you need to press down for 5 seconds. This is irritating because there were many times it tooka lot more than 5 seconds to just power it off. Irritating to say the least.

BT2040 bluetooth headset

Strengths: light weight, good voice quality

Weakness: using AAAA size batteries

I have this bluetooth headset for about one month. So far
it works very well. The voice quality is good and it does
not generate too much echo like another headset I had
before. It is also very light and comfortable to put on
my ear. The only issue I have is that this headset
requires AAAA batteries, but rechargeable AAAA batteries
may be hard or expensive to get.

Jabra BT2040

The Jabra BT2040 is a compact over-the ear Bluetooth headset with in-ear earbud. It features auto-pairing technology making it easy to pair with Bluetooth devices and an incoming call LED alert. Instead of having a rechargeable lithium-ion battery like most Bluetooth headsets, the BT2040 runs on one AAAA battery that gives a battery life of up to 8 hours talk time and 6 months standby. The...
