One Touch 4 External 750GB Hard DriveStrengths: Larger Size, Easy Use Weakness: Doesn't ISO image I purchased this device to make backups of my computer and it works great. It backs up files in one touch as advertised with installed software and installed quickly. It is quite and runs rather cool. Though it backs up files it doesn't ISO image the way Norton Ghost does so just keep that in mind when you purchase it. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Best drive for less
Strengths: The price is very affordable with 750gb capacity.
Weakness: The drive will cause the comp to freeze if you boot(restart) with it connected and turned on.
This is actually my second drive from Maxtor. My first is the Maxtor 3 Onetouch, which also has 750gb. This drive is great so far but I've found out it doesn't have full features backup like the Maxtor 3 Onetouch. The full features backup can backup your whole system files and not just your videos or music. It includes restore point, rollback, and sync features in case your computer crashes or attacked by viruses/spywares. If you want the full features, you'll have to buy the Maxtor 3 Onetouch (make sure it listed as having full features backup ) or the Maxtor 4 Plus. This drive is great for simple backup and with the great price, who can resist it. I've done 6 months of researching external hard drives before I've decided to buy Maxtor drives. I've found out it is best so far in terms of quality, capacity, reliability, and price. If you're buying any drive for the first time, make sure to keep in mind of the noise level produce by the fan, the heat it generates, and the warranty. This drive has a huge 5 yr warranty; it generates very little heat even after long extended use, and it has no fan, thus no noise level. I will definitely buy another Maxtor drive in the near future, and yes I recommend this drive to everyone.

If your computer wont boot with any usb device attached to it turn off USB boot/discovery in the BIOS. That should fix it, allowing you to boot with the device pluged in and turned on. This action should not effect the performance of the USB port.
