Watch out for the USB connector

Strengths: Great sound as long as the wind is not blowing to strongly. Better than any other noise cancelling headset just not perfect yet.

Weakness: Ear bud is a bit too big for my ears but with the ear clip not a problem staying on my ear just not as secure as I would like. Watch out for the USB adaptor cable it's not standard!

I accidently used another USB adaptor cable that had the same style of connector for the ear piece. In fact I thought it was the orginal USB adaptor that came with the Z9 until I plugged it into my computer to do a firmware update only to smell smoke as the Z9 burned up!!! Their connector is propriatary and obviously their power and ground wires are not standard with other companies! But I like their product otherwize so much that now that it's time to order another earpiece I'm buying again another Z9

BlueAnt Z9 bluetooth headset

Strengths: lightweight, easy to configure, small size

Weakness: not great for small ears

The Z9 is great! Easy to configure and easy to use. My boyfriend and I both got one. He loves his! I would love mine too but it's a little uncomfortable for my small ears so I can't wear it for too long. The noise reduction works better than my old Motorola H500.

It comes with 3 extra clear plastic ear holders, proprietary mini-USB cable and AC adapter. The quick guide paper is quite useful to understand the color led function and operation use.

I would recommend it.

BlueAnt Z9 is a very good Bluetooth headset

Strengths: Small, light weight, good quality sound with good volume. Battery life excellent. Max noise cancellation is very good.

Weakness: USB cable has proprietary connection (not easy to get second cable). Uncomfortable on my ear after a few hours (makes my ear itch - could just be me).

This is a very good product with great features. Bluetooth pairing is very easy. I found most of the functions are easy to learn and remember. The documentation is good.

Good Headset

Strengths: Small size, one button funtions, easy to access volume controls, 2 types of noise reduction, firmware upgradeable

Weakness: Non-standard USB connector, large earpiece

I have only had this for a short time and it is already the best small-size headset that I have had. I previously had a Motorola and a Plantronics that were very noisy in the car. When I'm in the car, I can change to maximum noise reduction by pushing the main button and it's much quieter for the person on the other end. The small size and option to re-charge via USB or AC is great. It works great with my iPhone. I would recommend this one for the size and the price to any first time buyer. The spare earhooks are a nice touch also.

BlueAnt z9 Bluetooth Headset

Strengths: Design,size,sound quality

Weakness: None

One of the smallest bluetooth headsets on the market, it has excellent sound quality. The design is comfortable on the ear.
Lots of support on the Z9 website also. It already has had two upgrades.
Very happy with this headset.

Good overall value

Strengths: Great sound; loud volume; great battery life; firmware upgradable via USB; charge via AC charger or USB cable (both included); handy clip to attach unit to your shirt pocket, sleeve, etc.

Weakness: non-standard USB cable (included); can hear very faint buzz sometimes

I've had this headset for a short time and already it is clearly the best Bluetooth headset I've tried (I've been through at least five models in the past). The Jawbone is a competitor for sound quality, but it has far inferior battery life compared to the Z9. On top of great technical characteristics, a lot of small touches make this a very usable unit: good design, spare ear hooks, a clip on the unit that lets you easily attach it to a pocket/sleeve/ etc., upgradeable firmware (an update is already available). On top of this, you can use the Z9 with up to 3 Bluetooth devices, and you can switch between them on the fly.

Horrible plain and simple

Strengths: Nice fit. Incoming is loud and clear

Weakness: Horrible outgoing sound, muddy, garbled, noisy.

I bought this with high expectations. In reality, outgoing sound was muddy, garbled, noisy and low volume. The unit has two modes, standard and max. In max mode, noise cancellation is at high but not only does it not cut the noise, my voice was so choppy that it was un-intelligible. After talking with Blueant, I wound up returning it. Soon after, they released new firmware v2. I bought a second one and upgraded to v2. It was actually worse than the first one. It was completely unusable in either mode. Using the phone itself or a WEP200, I get crystal clear loud sharp audio. I know its not my phone it is the Z9, the worst.

Nice and light

Strengths: Small, light weight, easy to use, turns on fast, supports lots of phone functions, long talk and standby time. Noise cancellation. Firmware is upgradable.

Weakness: no car charger, not twice as good as some cheaper models. Doesn't stay in Voice Isolation Max when turned off. Even small ear gel is too big. Flashes when not on call, doesn't flash when on call.

I bought this because my Jabra BT125 had no car charger and occasionally people complained it was hard to understand me in noisy environments. The Voice Isolation Max setting does seem to help, but it still can't be used if the driver window is down, or on my bicycle. It has no car charger per se, but it does include a USB charge cable that can be used with one of the many auto/USB adapters. It's not quite as comfortable on my ear as my Jabra was and the voice isolation mode resets when you turn the power off and back on Voice Isolation mode can only be changed when you're on a call so you can't just put it in that mode right away before your call. Also, I don't understand the logic of why it flashes when not on a call and doesn't flash when a call is connected. I would prefer it flash while I'm talking to let someone know I'm connected.

Boo Hoo Ant

Strengths: Size, Voice quality (inbound)

Weakness: Talk time battery life, Fequently powers down unexpectantly, comfort/fit, and poor voice quality (outbound)

I bought this based on reading some limited reviews. I have bought and tried at least 4 other makes and models of Bluetooth headsets so I have a fair good understanding of the how they function and the quality of each. It worked satisfactory at first but the quality has deteriorated since my purchase in late March. When use the headset the party on the other end will complain about the sound quality. I have tried it on both settings: “voice isolation normal and max”. I have been told the max setting tends to digitize my voice and makes it sound tinny. It routinely powers down for no apparent reason and it drops the BT connection from my phone. The noise cancellation does not compare to the Jawbone which I feel is far superior. I have contacted Blue Ant support and I am awaiting a return call.

One of the best

Strengths: Easy to pair, easy to use, comfortable fit

Weakness: Kind of big

I've tried several other bluetooth headsets and I like this one the best. It sounds great on my end and everyone tells me I sound good on their end. I like the fact that I can update the firmware on this. This is a little bigger than the other headsets I've used, but it fits much better too.

Strengths: small, upgradeable firmware

Weakness: uncomfortable

The biggest complaint I have is that it is not very comfortable. There is also a fair amount of static. I upgraded to the latest firmware to see if it would improve and it didn't seem to make a difference.
