This is the mother of all mp3s... All ipods (including touch and phone)tremble with fear when in the presence of this beast. First and foremost I dont ever have to go through a program that wont allow me to share music with everybody!!! so much memory and things to do to fill it up. if i cant fill it with all my music and movies than i can just record all of my favorite tv shows straight onto my archos tvo status!!! i will never be bored with it until tv is banned. and even then i will still have all my movies pictures and the web. you do have to pay for the web browser though. the 1st draw back of 2. the second is that there is no place to put the stylus. even though your finger works just as well. over all a work of art...Thank you archos, for shutting down all of the dump ipod nation!

Get one (if you can!)

Strengths: Wonderful clear picture, easy to use, great multi-function unit in small size

Weakness: Accessories sold separately, takes awhile to charge up once it's run down

This product has completely exceeded my expectations. It is fabulous - if you are thinking about ordering one, go for it - you won't be disappointed.

To begin with, I have the middle sized unit. The screen is a perfect size, and the portability isn't compromised (as it might be if you order the largest unit). The picture on this is unbelievable!

I bought the media player mainly to use to download shows from my DVR's hard drive (satellite t.v.'s DVR). It is so easy to use! You simply select which shows that you want to copy from your DVR onto your media player, and it does it!

The WI-FI option is great too - connects with ease when you are in a WI-FI area. Really convenient to be able to surf the web when you are out and about with such a tiny machine.

It is also good for downloading your digital pictures and music from your computer - also easy to do. You can also put DVD movies from your computer on this media player.

Basically, it has all the functions of an I-pod, but it has much more memory. You can store a MUCH greater volume of video on this than the top of the line I-Pod touch (and no, I am not Anti I-Pods by any means, I have an 80 g I-pod classic that I have had for over a year, just this one syncs with the DVR and has an unbelievable 160 gb!)

The Wi-Fi option requires an additional part (the portable browser) to use, and another addition that you might want to consider is the battery dock (for longer playing time). The unit takes a while to charge up after you have used it, so keep this in mind.

This comes with a basic case for carrying it it, which would fit easily in a purse or backpack.

This is really the portable t.v. of the future - your old small portable t.v. won't work after February 2009!

great buy

Strengths: Great resolution; easy to maneuver

Weakness: Plug-ins can start adding up; no stylus holder; gets really warm when recording from the DVR.

Overall the archos is great. It's a little heavy, but I knew that when purchasing the product. The DVR is a must have. I transfered pictures, videos, movies...and there's still tons of memory left. I love this thing, and highly recommend this product. The kickstand is a nice feature too.
