Very good machine...

Strengths: Does NOT vibrate when you set it up properly. Extremely silent. Almost sterilizes clothes. Washes better than anything I have ever seen. Uses very little water. Does NOT maintain mildew.

Weakness: Takes a little longer to wash a load of clothes.

Many people here have complained about the vibration of this unit. First of all, it spins at 1100 RPM... if you don't know how to level your washer properly then it is going to cause you a problem! The first thing I did when I got this washer was place a level across the washer lengthwise and then level it side to side. Then I placed the level across the depth of the washer and leveled it in that direction also. Once I got it completely leveled there is NO vibration!!! I have not had any electronics problems out of this unit nor have I had any mildew problems that others have complained about. If you do not level the machine properly then it will not drain properly. People need to stop blaming operator error on the machine and instead look in the mirror.

I am not affiliated with LG in any way but I must say this is one of the best washers I have ever seen. I don't like that the cycles are so long but it DOES clean better than any washer I have owed. With the high RPM spin cycle it gets the clothes very dry before you load them into the dryer. This makes it much easier for the dryer to dry your clothes so in effect, the overall wash time is the same. Since it takes me less time to dry the clothes, the extra wash cycle time pays for itself (and my clothes come out cleaner with less wear due to the washer being front loaded).

Overall I would rate this washer as one of the best in the industry. Time will tell how reliable the electronics are but so far everything is working well. I have a heavy gauge 30 amp circuit feeding the washer and so there is no risk of damaging voltage drops due to undersized house wiring.

I guess the moral of the story is: "If you set it up properly then it will set you up properly". Yes, because this washer is of a higher caliber than many of the other washers out there it can be a bit more demanding than the cheaper units. You must level it properly. You must have sufficient wiring to ensure that the electronics do not get damaged by the voltage drop (by the washer heating the water on the sterilize cycle)...

I would strongly recommend this washer to anyone who has sense enough to set it up properly. It is not a toy and should not be set up as one. To me, that is it's biggest strength and yet downfall at the same time... It requires that the user know what they are doing, and in return, it will do the same.

Works Great

Strengths: Clean clothes, reduced water usage, great design

Weakness: None

I've read a lot of the negative reviews on this washer and can't believe they're talking about the same machine our family has been using now for over a year. We have had none of the problems mentioned with the excessive vibration, mildew, or anything like that. Our washer and dryer are in the basement and mounted on the pedestal drawers and we don't have any problems with vibration. The machine is super quiet and does a fantastic job of cleaning even heavily soiled items. Being able to adjust the load settings really works, and the high spin cycle allows the clothes to dry so much faster. Yes some of the load times take a little longer, but with the extra large capacity we're doing fewer loads, saving lots of water and electricity, and the drying time is so much less so the overall length of doing a load start to finish is about the same as the top load machines. Overall our laundry is easier to do and we're saving $$$ with the high efficiencies.

Do NOT Recommend

Strengths: Large capacity, time delay start

Weakness: Vibration, Turns Whites Grey, Leaves Mystery Stains, takes long time to wash a load.

Had machine for 1 mo. & noticed mystery stain on new light, colored shirts with the first wash. Thought this was from dryer sheets so switched to liquid fabric softener. Exchanged clothes for exact same thing, washed the first time & again notice mystery stain (resembles clear grease stain)-thought this time it was the fabric the clothes were made from. After several months, noticed my white wash clothes slowly turning grey - thought my husband was using them to wipe his work boots - he swore he wasn't. After about a year, more mystery stains and ruined clothes that were grey, did a search on the internet and found others having same problem. Emailed LG and got same canned reply - I had not been following manufacturer recommendations so did what they said to do - wipe seal after use, run bleach cycle once a week, drain system and clean filter, etc. Bought new wash clothes & after a month, noticed them turning grey! Sold the stupid machine & matching dryer & bought a Maytag top loader. As of today, I have had it for 2 days and my clothes already look cleaner, and are much softer (didn't realize this issue until my new Maytag washer and dryer set). I also noticed with my new Maytag set that I can have a load washed and almost dried in the same time it took to wash a load in the LG. Didn't realize this inconvenience until now.

LG WASHERS? Look elsewhere

Strengths: Works great through warranty period.

Weakness: Drum can leak in rear causing bearings to rust and break apart. This causes damage to Stator Assy. It all starts with the unit sounding like a jet taking off, then a grinding noise then and LE error.

Don't buy LG. They warranty the drum for 7 years. Of course your receipt better not be on thermal paper. Make a copy. Though you may register the product, they do not recognize the registration as proof of time of purchase. Estimated cost to repair was around $600. The unit new was $1099. Not worth repairing.

The sad truth is that LG probably made these 4 or 5 years ago at the earliest which means the purchase could not have been made prior to that. So the drum should be under warranty whether you have a receipt or not. But no receipt no warranty.

Common sense isn't in common with everyone I guess.

Do NOT buy this washer!!!

Strengths: Quiet, energy efficient, easy to use

Weakness: Smelly/dirty clothes, smelly/dirty machine, high maintenance, have to use HE soap.

Unlike the common household, I have to do 3 loads of laundry a day. Each load fills up the washer around 50-60%. I've noticed that the machine uses very little water, and this is probably the reason why it doesn't do a very good job at cleaning the clothes. However, the thing that forced me to throw the machine away was the smell. It made towels and new clothes stink like rotten eggs.

Being an engineer, I've tested every machine option and suggestion posted on every blog/newsgroup before throwing the machine away. Nothing I've tried could remove the smelly problem. To prevent others from repeating my mistakes, below is a list of things that I've remembered trying:

1) Keep the door open when not in use. Clean the rubber folding next to the door after each wash.
2) Use baking soda / vinegar in tub clean mode.
3) Use chlorine in tube clean mode.
4) Use the fresh tablets sold online for HE machines.
5) Clean the water outlet located at the bottom left.
6) Use HE soap.
7) Use ammonia.
8) Played with settings in the LG dryer.

LG. Life is NOT good!

Strengths: looks

Weakness: loud, smells, shuts down before cycle finishes, stagnating water, have to manually drain, leaks

Don't buy a LG. Their customer service has contempt for the ungrateful peons that purhased their products.

The people who are writing the good reviews are the ones that have had their machines for a couple of months or less. They will learn to regret their glowing reviews like the rest of us!

LG Tromm Front Load Washer 3.72 Cu. Ft.

Strengths: Looks nice.

Weakness: Circuit board dosen't work.

Purchased new at Best Buy and never have got to use this machine because the circuit board dosen't work. I think I might take it back and purchase a better brand. Is this a common problem with these machines?

WM2277HW

Strengths: none noted

Weakness: Control board has been replaced twice. Needs to be replaced again.

Stay away from this machine. Paid over $900 for this machine 4 years ago and has spent close to $900 in repairs in the last two years. Will never buy another LG product. Customer service is no help.

WM2277HW Washer - Excellent replacement for my...

Strengths: Quiet. Smooth Running--little to no vibrations. Cleans well. Easy interface. Seems well built.

Weakness: The water pump is noisy, so when on the spin cycle or just emptyting the drum, the machine is loud.

I've had this washer for a couple of months now, and I am very happy with it. My clothes seem cleaner than I remember with the top loader, and it is a joy doing laundry. The controls are easy to use, and it's kind of fun playing with all the options.

I have had no problem at all with vibration, at any speed. I live in a standard frame home, and the laundry area is not specially reinforced. I just put the machine in, connected it, made sure it was level and tight against the floor, and all is well.

My only complaint is that the water pump makes a groaning sound when it is operating. In the spin cycle, it turns on and off, and it is a little annoying. Overall, though, the washer is very quiet, with more noise coming from my water pipes when filling than when the machine is washing or spinning.

I highly recommend this washing machine.

LG Electronics WM2277HW Washer

Strengths: Cleans! And then some.. The sanitary option is great, especially with a newborn (spit-ups) but my only caveat is that when using the sanitary wash it takes about 3 hours to wash!

Weakness: {{VIBRATION}} This thing spins like crazy.. as it's supposed to. But make sure you have a solid floor(subfloor or re-inforced subfloor) because at 1100 RPM's this thing can be felt around the house.

I bought these LG's and love em', but the first one I got was the floor model from Best Buy, I got it home and they hooked it up and leveled it. After they run the test cycle it runs perfectly -- but once you put ANY size load in, this thing shook so bad I couldn't read any of the printed words on the front of it while running. So I returned it and they gave me a brand new one. One thing to mention is that upon shipping they have shipping bolts to lock the drum in the washer so it doesn't get damaged--make sure they remove those. This brand new one shakes just as bad. Now I realize some shaking is to be expected at 1100 RPM, but this was bad -- It sounds like an Apache Helicopter is hovering over my house. I'd definately make sure you test it with a load in water if you can at the store to make sure it's quiet. I did get pedastals, so this may add to the vibration as the center of gravity is higher off the ground. The washer is great otherwise, very high tech looking and many compliments on it. My clothes are much cleaner than before--just be sure to use High Effeciency detergent "Marked with He" on brands like Tide. I've heard the Siemens is very nice too--but the Pause button during wash to lower the water if you want to add clothes is a godsend, very nice. I like the sanitary wash too because it bakes the clothes real nice -- especially if you have small children and are worried about germs. Overall, I'd recommend it, but make sure your washing room is on a concrete slab or that your laundry room has some good support to keep it from vibrating so bad.

Funny how a washer that spins over 1000rpm starting off with a
wet unbalanced load is expected to spin without a shake. A VERY
important point is the floor below this machine. A second floor
wood framed house in most cases will cause problems. My LG is
on cement bolted to threaded studs in place of the feet. This works
perfectly for me. The loads balance out in 30-40 seconds, about
the time needed to pull the bulk of water out of each wash. If you
have a load of jeans and the legs get tangled hit the pause button,
open the door and rearange the wash. My LG is over a year in service
offering better preformance than ever expected. My dryer saves me
money running about a 1/3 the time it ran with a wash from my
Maytag top loader. I give this 5 stars *****

Concur with the previous comment/reply. By and large the biggest complaint in the reviews that I had read is the vibration issue during the spin cycle. You can not expect ANY washing machine to spin at that rate/RPMs with a shifting load and expect it to suppress the resulting vibrations entirely. Especially when the machine itself is not levelled-out and balanced during install/set-up! I believe that many of the complaints are a result of improper set-up and/or use. You can learn a lot of good information if you take the time to read the product manual (which few people do these days). My wife and I purchased the LG (Model #WM2075CW) almost a week ago, ran several loads and have not experienced the problems encountered by others. This is not the same model being reveiwed, but it is the exact same design, just a lesser model (minus a few features of the 2277).

I purchased my LG frontloading washer/dryer only 5 months ago. They are both sitting on a built-in, strong, level platform floor in the laundry room, but I continuously have problem with out of balance loads.

During the wash cycle, everything goes well until it gets to 34 minutes left on the cycle. That is the fist rinse spin. It spins forwards, backwards and repeats this little dance for over an hour! I will go in and pause the machine and redistribute the clothing evenly, only to have it spin forward and backwards again, and again, and again. Finally it will give the UE code and stop.

Upon restarting the machine for "Rinse Only", it will go thru the cycle and then again encounter balance problems at the 10-minute mark. Once again it will try and try to balance itself, only to again end up with the UE flashing. I'm going nuts trying to get laundry done.

My floor is solid and so is the platform, so I know that is not the cause of the problem. I cannot for the life of me understand why the washer cannot cycle itself thru a full load. I'm ready to return the darn things and get something I know is reliable like Maytag or Kenmore!!

If anybody can offer suggestions as to why this continues to happen, I'd love to hear them. Be nice if someone from LG Tromm was monitoring this chat, eh?

And what is with that clonk, clonk, clonk sound coming from the dryer? This set is brand new! Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Proper leveling will reduce vibration...

Strengths: Gentle on clothes, uses less water, spins them almost dry...

Weakness: Somewhat noisy on max spin cycle, but expected at 1100 rpm...

Excellent washer with multiple options to get your laundry clean. If you're used to top loading machines, the front loader is a new experience. This machine uses much less water than a top loader so expect to save on your water bill. Agitation is accomplished turning clothes gently by back and forth motion of the drum at low speed. Rinsing all the soap out of your clothes is one of the benefits of a front loading machine and the LG WM2277HW rinse and spin cycles are outrageous. The machine, as well as any other that spins at 1100+ RPM needs to be properly leveled. Don't depend on the delivery guys to do this properly, get a level and check it yourself. If there's too much vibration or the machine moves, it's not level. Adjust the feet to get the machine perfectly level and this will reduce vibration to a minimum. Keep in mind, this machine has a 10 degree drum incline built-in so the water will drain to the pump. The sanitary cycle is excellent for items that need extra cleaning like baby clothes. The machine boosts your water temp to about 158 degrees in the sanitary cycle. Once the machine spins out and you remove your laundry, wipe down the door and rubber seal. Don't close the door with water on it or it'll mildew, just like your shower if you leave it wet. This is an idiosyncrasy of front loaders, you might not leave the door open like on a top loader, so it won't dry out with the door closed. You can use the "speed cycle" if you want to wash something quickly. Adjust the time, water temp, and spin using the various control buttons. You can also program your own custom cycle. This machine is user friendly and gives you plenty of control over your wash cycles. The preset cycles you dial in with the big knob are a bit longer than a top loaders because front loaders agitate different and rinse better than top loaders. Overall, this machine does an excellent job of getting your clothes clean and spinning the water out, so your drying time is reduced. If you happen to have a gas dryer like the LGD3788, your clothes will dry amazingly quick. Once you get used to using a front loader, you'll wonder why you didn't switch sooner. The LGWM2277HW rates as One of the Best.

LG WM2277HW VIBRATES MED TO HIGH SPEEDS

Strengths: Cleans nicely, and drys quickly, should be very energy efficient. Looks are great!!

Weakness: VIBRATES badly on the medium speed to high speed. To expensive to vibrate.

I have placed plywood on the floor, reinforced the floor joists in the crawl space with a floor jack and made sure the machine is level. Shakes badly, even makes the dryer shake. Feel the vibs all through the house. This is the 2nd machine to try and eleminate the vibs. Without clothes in machine, runs pretty smooth. Put clothes in it and the drum wobbles causing the vibration. At the highest speed the vibration would be acceptable, but slower speeds are terrible. They will surely shake themselves apart in short order and it also can't be healthy for the electronic controls either. If the store will take them back they are history. Shouldn't have to rebuild the house for a washer and dryer especially since these are top of the line and expensive.

I found this solution to your vibration problem. The washer used to solve this problem was also an LG, but a steam version so it rotates faster. Here it is:

It seems like all front loading washers can have vibration problems if they are not placed on a REAL solid floor and perfectly level. I’ve read many complaints regarding this problem with all of the major brands (Whirlpool, GE, LG, Sears Kenmore and more).

Here’s what we did to solve the noise and vibration problem. I can’t take credit for this solution as we read this solution in another review and tried it and it worked for us. I am VERY grateful I found the solution on the Internet.

We have a weak floor that vibrated & the washer on spin cycle would travel around the floor due to the vibration. Leveling the washer was NOT enough to stop this problem. We had a local lumberyard cut us three 1”x12” solid oak boards to place on the floor as a solid base for our washer and dryer. We also put a stall mat on top of these boards. A stall mat comes in 4’x6’ dimensions and is ¾ inches thick. It’s made of an extremely dense rubber material (one of these mats will weigh 100 pounds or more). The stall mats are available anywhere farm materials are sold. Sometimes they are called cow mats, or horse mats or even barn mats. They are made to cushion the floor for a horse or cow (and can withstand the wear and tear of 1400+ pounds of animal and their hooves and waste each day so they’re VERY durable). I bought ours for less than $40 so it’s NOT an expensive solution. You can cut the mat to size with a common utility knife. Just lift the edge of the mat and cut the proper width. It’s not difficult.

Once the washer and dryer are placed on this solid base, you won’t have ANY problems with vibration or noise. Even an apartment installation would be adequate to dampen vibration to those below the apartment. It works great. The base looks professional too if you make it to the exact size of the washer/dryer combo.

Thanks for the tip using oak and rubber mats to absorb the vibration.

I purchased the LG Washer (steam) and Dryer in august 2007. I believe the vibration caused by the washer will eventually due extensive damage to my home. I have had the service man out twice, replacing the only shock absorber once due to a clicking sound it was making - no improvement, still clicks, still vibrates. If it did not clean cloths so well I would have given up on it a long time ago. I spoke with LG customer service and they sold me a set of absolutely worthless rubber cups for the feet. I tried a set of rubber spacers from Lowes Home Improvement that were advertised to eliminate front loading washing machine vibration - no good. I bought rubber product from an internet site - no good. I will try the oak + mat solution, it this does not work I will just accept that LG got me this time (but will never get me again). I saw that Sam Sung has a unit they are advertising for 2nd floor use - it supossably has anti-vibration technology incorporated; what a thought!

When the LG Service man was looking at the washer I asked him why the dryer did not completely dry my clothes. He told me that the folks in England liked there clothes a little less dry. I guess with all that smog they can not tell if their clothes are really dry or not? Anyway, if it is sold in America, make the dry time or sensor work for American's - how hard could that be?

Thank you,

Almost ready to give up on LG in Carolina. December 30, 2007

Another simple vibration fix is to stuff a little "spongy" foam between the machine and the wall and dryer. This dramatically dampens vibrations form the machine. See the following blog outlining this fix:

LG WM2277HS

Strengths: Looks cool, pedestals are a great place to store dirty laundry until ready to run a cycle. Easy to understand controls

Weakness: Spin cycle shakes the first floor of our home, has a constant moldy/mildew smell, retains water, maintenace expections are ridiculous

We purchased this machine Aug 2006. Within the first couple of weeks I noticed standing water in the rubber lip of the door seals. I also noticed the drum retained a lot of humidity after I wiped the door jamb out & removed the clothes, enough humidity to steam up the door window. I called my sales rep at Best Buy and his suggestion to wait 30 days, then spray it w/ vinegar. I now understand why he suggested to wait 30 days; that is when Best Buy's return policy expires. No help here.

So, I have called LG cust. service 3 times in the last 9 months. Apparently as an owner of this machine, you are required to do your own maintenance, which includes draining and cleaning the front water filter once a month, and running the sanitary cycle with bleach or vinegar once a month, and upon each useage thoroughly dry out the drum, and rubber door seals.

So, I have complied with the above maintenance recommendations, and my washer after 7 months still smells musty, and moldy. Our clothes are starting to smell musty and moldy. I have even purchased a non-electronic mini-dehumidifier to place inside the washer. In about one week, it collected 8 oz of water. Clearly there are some drainage issues with this machine.

Lastly, I'll briefly mention the other issue that appears to be common in other reviews. The vibrations from the spin cycle shake our first floor. I ended up wedging a phone book between the machine and our newly installed Kohler porceline farmhouse utility sink, in an effort to protect the sink from being chipped or even yanked from the wall.

In summary, I would never buy this model again. I love the concept of the front load, large capacity machine. However, this is not the model you want to purchase (in my humble opinion).

LG Electronics WM2277HW Washer

Weakness: After six months the circuit board melted, and the machine completely shut down. Gets out of balance easily on the spin cycle Poor Service

There are only two members of our household using the washer. Therefore, this machine shouldn't have broken down so quickly.

It's very difficult to get an LG Service tech. We waited two weeks. If parts are ordered, it takes between seven to fourteen days to be delivered.

I concur. Very difficult to get a LG technician.
Our washer WD1243FHB just out of warrantee and the circuit board needs to be replaced.
The cost just doubled after the initial visit by the technician which cost over $60 and quoted $270 and 2 days later has escalated to $496.

LG Washer - not worth the $$

Strengths: larger capacity

Weakness: doesn't clean clothers, long wash cycles, wrinkled clothes

I bought this washer about a year ago and have been severely disappointed in the purchase. My husband is in construction and comes home dirty every day. I assumed that this would clean his clothes, but they come out dirty. My old Kenmore did a better job cleaning. The cycles take over an hour to run, almost twice as long my old machines. the clothes come out twisted and wrinkled. I paid a premium price expecting a premium product, but what I got was less than the machines I replaced.

LG WM2277HW washer with vibration problem

Strengths: Good looking, very high tech

Weakness: Excessive vibration during spin cycle with a load.

I wish I knew about this vibration problem before I buying this machine. Do not buy this machine. When I pay $1,000 for a washer I expect better.
After each wash the vibration from the washer would walk the machine out to a different spot.

Great Machine

Strengths: This washer provided me with great washing and child friendly capability.

Weakness: Price, as expected with a front load.

As with any front loader, the price was higher than a top loader. At this point, I feel that it was well worth it. I have been using it in a manufactured home and have found it to be very quiet. The floor seems to be handling the high RPM's just fine. I no longer have the house shaking with every spin cycle. There is a slight vibration in the floor right around the washer only. Also, my 8 year old has begun doing her own laundry. It is easy to load and work. She loves using it and her younger sister loves watching it. There is a child lock that I can use to keep the little one off of it. Great idea. Overall, I have no complaints about the machine and would recommend it for anyone looking for a front load with many options.

WARNING

Strengths: Looks

Weakness: Flooded house

Evidently a valve in the washer got stuck open allowing the cold water to continue filling even when the washer was off. It filled until the front door blew open and flooded water throughout the house. Last front loader and LG product I'll ever buy.

overpriced piece of junk

Strengths: nice to look at

Weakness: I have my washer upstairs and it vibrates so bad it shakes my bed. To me this isn't any energy saver, it takes an hour to do a load of wash and then my clothes still look dirty!

I bought this machine for the look of it I guess and because it was energy efficient and also a front loader. I thought I would buy the high end product however nothing replaces the old fashioned washer and dryer systems. My clothes don't feel clean and the spin cycle spins the clothes so hard that they are so wrinkled when they come out of the washer. Also the steam system stinks! My clothes looked worse than they did before I put them in. Not only did I have to dry them because they come out damp but I had to iron them;I thought this was supposed to eliminate this problem. This was the worst purchase by far, I would never recommend this to anyone interested in buying a new washer or dryer (because I am stuck with the dryer as well, which is no great shakes either). If you like simplicity and the ease of getting your clothes done fast and clean, opt for the cheap old fashioned kind which is far better than this. They just don't make thinks the way the used to. They try to make a product better but in fact they made it worse.

horrible machine!!!

Strengths: none

Weakness: everything

we purchased our machine in late april 06' at first it was a great machine I actually enjoyed doing laundry, then after 2 mos we got a motor overload error, they came out to replace the motor said it should be fine. Yet it wasnt, they then came back out to replace the curcuit board, still didnt fix my problem. In the mean time we had to wait weeks in between service calls for an appointment, then had to wait till parts came in before they could "fix" it. Yeah I could use the machine, that is if you call a load of laundry 3 towels or 5 t-shirts
and then it would take 3hrs or more for it to finally finish without getting an error code. Needless to say it is now OCT 18 and we are still having the problem and the answer I get from LG is that we have not met the "excessive repair requirement" for them to give us a new machine. RIDICULOUS is what I have to say I am sure there are other people who have had or are having the same problem. If you have already purchased this machine GOOD LUCK and if you havent yet then save your money!!!

Great Machine

Strengths: Capacity, Various Wash Cycles, High Spin Speed so clothes are not very wet when they come out of the machine, delay wash cycle, very quiet operation

Weakness: None so far

My girlfriend and I love this machine. When we first got it, we couldn't wait to do laundry. I'm not really sure why every one is complaining about vibrations. Our maching doesn't vibrate at all. Because of the high spin speeds, I would definitely make sure that the machine is balanced, or it will "walk" all over the floor. The machine as a lot of different cycles, including a sanitary cycle. It is extremely quiet. We could always hear our other washer, but with this one, we can't even tell it is running. It also uses a lot less water that out top loader, so that is going to save us money! All in all, I would highly recommend this machine.

MY CLOTHES STINK!!! NOT ONLY DOES IT NOT USE MUCH WATER< IT DOES NOT USE ENOUGH WATER TO CLEAN THE CLOTHES! MY CLOTHES SINK LIKE A SOUR SEWER! I UNDERSTAND MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND THINK IT IS THE WATER STANDING IN THE RUBBER SEAL OF THE DOOR, BUT I BELIEVE IT SIMPLY DOES NOT USE ENOUGH WATER TO CLEAN THE CLOTHES AND ALSO IT SUCKED A TEXTURED SOCK INTO THE TINY DRAIN LINE AND LEAKED ALL OVER MY FLOOR! THIS WASHER REALLY EATS SOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT STINKS!!!! I WOULD NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN, NOR WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!! I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO WASH MY CLOTHES OVER AND OVER AND OVER WITH THE SAME DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE STINKING SMELL! WEI PAID A LOT TO HAVE A NICE FRONT LOADER WASHER FOR OUR FAMILY! THIS IS NOT A NICE FRONT LOADER! IT IS A FRONT THAT IT IS CALLED A WASHING MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WOULD FEEL GUILTY IN GIVING IT AWAY!!! LIFE IS STRESSFUL WITH AN LG FRONT LOADING WASHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DOn't buy it!

Strengths: Cleaned the clothes well for the 6 days it worked

Weakness: Motor overload error message, won't drain water, machine is 6 days old.

Besy Buy customer service told me this has been a problem and that LG is working out the kinks! How ridiculous is that!! I'm sending it back ASAP and researching everything I can get my hands on about which brands and models anre best. Buyer beware, don't buy an LG!

Chinese Junk (no pun intended)

Strengths: None

Weakness: Drum Bearing Crap

5-year old washer and have to replace the main drum bearing! Costs over $500: I can buy new (and it WON'T be LG) ( new sales slogan, maybe ? ).Too bad Home Depot and Lowes sells this crap. I've had Kenmore, and Maytag last over 20 years without a problem.Guess this is the greatness of a global marketplace: crap from ALL OVER the World!
