Easy to use movie editing software that does not tax...Strengths: Fast learning curve, very modest pc hardware requirements, big step up from bundled video editing software, low price. Weakness: Average sound editing features. If you are using an OEM software that came bundled with your video equipment to edit your movie like I was, then this software will bring your enthusiasm on editing movies to a higher level. Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8Strengths: User friendly interface; Make personalized DVDs with custom navigation. Weakness: Lacking HD support. If you want a robust standard video editing program which does not require a steep learning curve, I would recommend the Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8. However, if you need HD video editing, you will have to get the Platinum edition which costs twice as much as the standard edition. With Vegas Movie Studio 8, you can easily create captivating videos with many built-in professional tools to share your creations online or to author your own DVDs. Strengths: quick loading
Weakness: difficult to span (adjust size) of mpg files that are captured in DVD resolution
I prefer this and use this over several other home video editing programs. Primarily, I use the DVD-architect software that is bundled with this software package.
I use this on XP and it installs much quicker and then boots up much faster than comparable programs. Also, I find the interface easier to understand than other programs.
