Sanus VMSAS Flat Panel TV Wall Mount

Strengths: Provides lots of bolts, washers, plastic spacers, etc. for attaching to a large number of different TV's.

Weakness: I found it important to place the center vertical support in the center of the TV, or it was difficult to level the TV horizontally.

I purchased a 52" Sony LCD TV and was trying to decide if I wanted to purchase a stand or wall mount. I selected the wall mount because I had problems find a stand I liked that was tall enough and that did not cost $600+. After installing it, I'm glad I went with the wall mount. Very clean looking. There are cheaper mounts out there, but this models lets you swing it out and get behind it to plug in components without taking it down from the wall.

Sanus Flat Panel TV Wall Mount (Model VMSAS)

Strengths: Very well made (in the USA!) with clear instructions.

Weakness: None

I found this Sanus mount to be very easy to assemble and hang. It took a friend and myself about 1 hour from start (taking the 42" plasma TV off its existing table-top mount) to attaching the TV to the wall plate. The moving/lifting of the TV is a two person job, but mounting the hardware to the back of the TV and placing the wall plate can be done by one person.

This mount can only be used on wood stud type construction.

You can easily move the TV horizontally several inches if necessary for centering (the wall plate may not end up centered on the wall...you must follow the existing studs), and there are adjustments to allow about 6 degrees of rotation for horizontal leveling and also for tilting the screen down in the vertical plane.

I would definitely recommend the Sanus mount; it may not be the least expensive, but you are paying for quality. It is rated for 150 pounds, but I am sure it is derated for safety.

A great way to mount your flat screen tv!

Strengths: The Sanus SMSA-S wall mount is a very well constructed and versatile mount. It is rated for TVs upto 150 pounds. Installation instructions were very clear.

Weakness: The only "weakness" is that it must be mounted across 2 studs at least 12" apart. While that gives it added durability, it limited where I could mount it between 2 windows.

Since the studs were not centered, the mount is slightly off center. However, the tv can be mounted at the ends of the wall mount so it's close to the center of the wall. The mount is relatively expensive, but I think it's still well worth the price.
