BEST LCD for 20 inchesStrengths: 2ms response time; 1680x1050 reso; 3000:1 contrast ratio Weakness: build quality like stated I was looking for a LCD between 20-22 inches that had atleast 1680x1050 reso to upgrade from my 17 inch sony sdm-hs73. This is a huge upgrade considering I was use to 400:1 contrast ratio, 14ms response time, and my reso on my old lcd sony was 1280x1024. For the specs on this puppy; there are no other monitors out there that will match this for the size or the price. I was looking for a gaming screen and on a budget; this one you can't beat. I was going to get a 22 inch, but on newegg or zipzoomfly etc. no other monitors for this size have these statistics. People been saying also they been ordering they were getting 5000:1 contrast ratio's by accident as a plus on newegg! For around 230 for one of the best monitors with response time and contrast ratio (if not the best) you gotta get this. Now they do have a 22 inch model around 330ish of which I had the cash I may go for that, but I'm satisfied! 75% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great monitor, great price!Strengths: Bright colors, sharp contrast, no ghosting Weakness: No height adjustment I bought this monitor to replace my husband\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s old CRT and he LOVES it. He\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s a gamer and now all his games show a vast improvement in color, contrast, image crispness, and no ghosting! It really is remarkable. Hard to say whether the 2 ms response time really makes a big difference in gaming or not (a lot depends on a good graphics card), but he thinks it has. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve purchased several different brands of monitor for work--Dell, Viewsonic, Toshiba--and for the price, this is definitely one of the better monitors I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve seen. It would be great to have height adjustment, but then you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'re definitely going to pay more. Also, why pay another $100 to get 2 more inches 50% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A Solid LCD Monitor for the Price
Strengths: Excellent specs - 2ms response rate, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 1680x1050 resolution. More affordable than other models with similar specs. Well-known brand. Three year warranty.
Weakness: Build quality is good, but not great.
Although LG has been manufacturing desktop and laptop displays for quite some time, they've only recently started selling LCD monitors directly to consumers. So, even though they're not as well known a brand as Samsung or Viewsonic, they have plenty of experience making quality displays.
At the time of this review, you'd be hard-pressed to find a consumer-oriented LCD monitor with better specs. With a 2ms response rate (the speed at which pixels change) and a 3000:1 contrast ratio (the range of colors it can display), this model ranks among the best products in its class, despite being slightly less expensive.
The only potential downside is the build quality. The outer body is made mostly of plastic, which keeps the weight down but doesn't feel as solid as some other LCDs (e.g., Samsung's). The buttons also feel a bit mushier, and the shiny plastic on the rear smudges easily. Not a big deal, but these minor glitches could explain why this display costs less than its peers.
The bottom line is that if you're looking for a quality 20" monitor, this model deserves serious consideration.
