Arcade Baseball, FTW

Strengths: It has just enough realism to keep the hardcore baseball fans entertained, but just enough "arcadeness" to keep us people that think baseball is boring coming back for more.

Weakness: The controls take a little while to get used to.

Overall this game is a blast. I'm a somewhat fan of Baseball, but not really. The arcade style made me interested..and I'm glad I looked into it! This is a solid title that offers a lot of fun! It's even better with friends!

Strengths: good visuals, very fun

Weakness: shallow

The Bigs is an arcade-style baseball game. This is not your typical simulation baseball game where it tries to be realistic. This game is very fast paced and over the top. I felt the game did what it was suppose to and the graphics look nice. The game could get boring after awhile, but I think the game is meant to be played in little increments anyway. It’s a good pick up and play game.

Arcade baseball at its finest

Strengths: Easy pickup and play gameplay, over the top action

Weakness: purist may throw up after seeing this

If you have played MLB Slugfest, then you will know what The BIGS is all about. The slow-paced game of baseball has been injected with some HGH. Everybody is faster, quicker, and stronger. In a sim-MLB game, it may take you 2 hours to play through 9 innings. However, in the BIGS it can take as quick as 20 minutes to play through a game of 9 innings. Pitcher are equipped with fire torching pitches while batters can smash one out of the ball park with a whiff. Your player's Turbo meter will allow the player to perform these inhuman moves, but you will have to use it wisely or you will run out--adding a layer of strategy to the game. Overall, if you enjoy any of the past MLB Slugfest titles, you will have fun with this one.

2K Sports brings us The Bigs, an arcade-style baseball video game that reminds me of Slugfest. At the same time, it is styled very much in the lines of the 2K baseball sims. There are many different modes that gamers will find enjoyable, like the Rookie Challenge that will keep most baseball fans busy for a very long time. The graphics are amazing. One of the best features is the turbo button which can be used with hitting, pitching, and fielding. Overall, this is a pretty good over-the-top baseball sim.
