Great labeler

Strengths: Wide variety of moderately priced labels available, can print graphics with a pc.

Weakness: none found yet

I couldn't pass up on this labeler for the price offered, and I'm glad I didn't. It is intuitive and works as expected. Print quality is great and I love the availability of laminated labels. These are laminated after you print to protect the text. I haven't yet tried printing custom labels via the pc, but it is a great option I will surely use soon.

Very nice label maker!

Strengths: Both PC compatible and works great as a stand-alone unit. Automatically cuts tape. Very feature-rich!

Weakness: Replacement cartridges are a bit pricey. Only uses up to 3/4" tape.

I use other Brother label makers at my job, so I am very familiar with the Brother P-touch line. I purchased this unit to replace my PT-530 that recently died on me after several years. I was surprised at how feature-rich the PT-1950 actually is just as a stand-alone unit. Once I loaded the software and plugged it in to my PC, I was shocked at the amount other things I could do. I really like being able to print my own pictures and graphics on this unit.

PT-1950 Labeler

Strengths: Features. Price.

Weakness: Replacement cartridge price. Wasteful tape margins.

A very nice home or home/office unit that supports multi-line printing and USB connection to a computer. Easy to use, fast printing, and pleasant interface. Replacement tape cartridges will make total cost of ownership pretty steep over time, and the wasted tape during print can only be partially overcome through software settings. Overall, I'm pleased, however, and recommend the unit for occasional use.
