HP (Hewlett-Packard) HP DeskJet 990Cse Color Inkjet...Strengths: Speed is outstanding for B&W printing, especially for the price. Having a color option is terrific, but speed for color is considerably slower. Reliable functioning, cartridge change easy. Weakness: Color Ink cartridges have limited capacity, especially if you focus on a particular color. I haven't used it much for specialized functions--e.g. photos. HP (Hewlett-Packard) HP DeskJet 990Cse Color Inkjet...Strengths: Good ppm speed when printing several copies at one timel. Color printing very good. Weakness: Uses ink too fast. Fast speed on multiple copies offset by slow speed on single print projects. Would not reccomend. I had a HP890C Desk jet that I liked very much, but was beginning to age and had to be cleaned every 6 months to operate..being down a week at a time. I bought the 990Cse because it was supposed to be fast. It is only fast when there are several copies of a print. It does not do envelopes well at all and will not do multiple envelopes like my 890C would. It is much slower than my 890 on single print jobs, and has a tendency to jam. It also has a tendency to nick the paper from time to time...leaving about an 1/8 x 1/8inch tear in the top of the paper. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Strengths: Easy set up, nice print quality, very fast, works with a Mac and PC at same time
Weakness: Haven't found any yet
So far I have been very pleased with this printer. I needed a printer I could hook up to a Mac and a PC. One that automatically detects a job form either platform and prints it.
Set up on both platforms was a breeze, I guess that's one reason I'm partial to HP. Just wish they'd come out with a fast, wide format inkjet that doesn't cost too much.
