Hoya 77mm FilterStrengths: Low Profile, Quality Construction Weakness: None I use these Super Multi-Coated UV filters on all of my lenses. They offer protection will little or no image impact. It's such low profile that you probably won't know it is on the lens. If there are any knocks about this product, you can say it is a bit hard to get smudges off. I use a little soap and water and avoid harsh cleaning agents. As to price, I think it is positioned just right. There are cheaper alternatives out there, but they don't offer the same quality. If you pay more, it's not clear that you're getting much more in return. A great value indeed! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Hoya UV FilterStrengths: Perfect fit, good overall protection, clean optics Weakness: None The first thing I get when I order/buy a new lens is a Hoya filter. Protects the lens. Good product for reasonable price. I have them on all my current lenses 70-200/2.8 L, 60mm/2.8 Macro, and 24-70/2.8 L. I'll also get one for my wide angle once I decide what it will be. 77mm UV SMC Glass Haze Filter
Strengths: Thin, clean, perfect fit, does not change images
Weakness: None
I purchased the 24-70mm f/2.8L lens and wanted to make sure I protected my investment. The filter was only $39.99, definitely a small price to pay in comparison to the cost of the lens.
So far so good. It hasn't changed the quality of my images. It is very thin and clean. Fits perfectly on my lens. Good quality and price. I do have other B+W filters and find that the Hoya is just as good.
