NEC VT47Strengths: Large bright picture, rich color, simple to use remote. Weakness: Zoom feature, projected light area vs projected picture. The largest projected picture for distance to screen I have ever seen. I have owned 3 different projector. This has the largest picture. It dwarfs the picture size of Infocus x1a. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Quality Project for reasonable priceStrengths: NEC consistently makes a quality product that is reasonably priced. Weakness: None so far After doing my homework, I came across the NEC projector that is also HDTV compatible (requirement for my application) and worked perfectly. There are more expensive units available but this did the job! 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

NEC VT47 Multimedia ProjectorStrengths: Bright, clear picture. Easy setup/use. Weakness: Not versatile for aiming When I started looking for projector for personal use, I didn't know too much, so I went to Best Buy, and got this one when it went on sale. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. 91% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

NEC VT47 ProjectorStrengths: bright screen, light/portable, eco mode Weakness: none Purchased this for presentation from a laptop and it works very nice. Its quiet and the distance to the wall is short so it projects a bright and vibrant image. Haven't tried connecting it to video source such as DVD or HDTV but that was not the main goal on this purchase. It has 1500 lumen and its not the brightest out there but still plenty bright enough. I use it on Eco mode and still get very acceptable quality. Eco mode is supposed to extend the lamp life to additional 1000 hours. Overall is quite portable due to the light weight(6.6 lbs). Rounded edges are a nice touch not that it really matters if they weren't. All in all a quality projector at a very nice price. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Great projector for its priceStrengths: very high image quality , and very friendly features Weakness: Great, expect Big pictures (over 100"), if you have really good eyes = screendoor effect. I think for the price and the options, this is a CANT GO WRONG projector was searching for reviews everywhere. I never reviewed this one because I wanted a DLP projector. I went to the store - finally - and the sales person noticed that I was about to purchase an Optoma (1800 lumens) or a BenQ (1500 lumens) and he told me: "spend less and get something better" and showed me the VT47. 67% of readers found this review helpful. Daily use small camera with high picture qualityStrengths: AA batteries! I can always bring more rechargable batteries for the camera! Weakness: XD! I have a Nikon Coolpix 8700 for some important occasions. But it is too bulky. I needed a much portable camera. That's why I bought this camera. I am quite satisfied with its picture quality and surprisingly number of features for this small camera. The only thing is that it takes XD which is usually very expensive! Good daily use camera! 40% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

inexpensive solution for meStrengths: the price was good for me. $599 plus tax. brightness is good, contrast is not too bad tho it shows 400:1 Weakness: doesn't have widescreen resolution, manual focus i was looking to buy an affordable projector for home use. This one jumped in w/ lower price. i figured if i'd like 1024x768 rather than 800x600, additional cost would be around $300-$400, which i am not ready to spend. Watching a couple of DVDs, i would say it's pretty good quailty. haven't used it during day time, but when it's dark, 400:1 contrast ratio is quite acceptable. noise level is low too. 0% of readers found this review helpful. Good projector for the priceStrengths: Easy to setup, bright, short throw, low noise Weakness: resolution, no DVI inputs, 4:3 Bought this from OfficeDepot for $499 and its a great projector for that price indeed. I have so far tried powerpoints and played few movies and it’s been great even with a basic resolution of 800*600. It does not have DVI inputs and that I don't like. It is small and light enough to move around. But the best part I like about it is the short throw lens. My room is not big and it still throws >100" image on the wall. Eco mode is cool but I haven’t used it much. Other nice feature is automatic keystone correction which can be annoying in some older projectors with manual keystone correction. Overall, it’s a great projector for this price. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

good budget projectorStrengths: Easy to use. Compact design. Clear picture. Weakness: Can see screendoor effect when showing very bright pictures. Adjustment is limited. Can not complain much as my first projector. Good image and quality contrast even when projected onto the wall directly. Price is good, just hope the lamp lasts long. A nice cute toy for me. Good experience with VT47Strengths: low price, easy installation, noiseless Weakness: big screen I won't expect more for this price projector. Although at first, I was unhappy with the too big screen. Shortly, I found adjust the aspect to "native" is an effect solution to eliminate the screen size. Of course, mounting on the ceiling would be another good way to adjust screen size. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great DealStrengths: Quality of Projector for the Price, Design Weakness: Short bulb life This is a great value. It has a very slim, compact design. Much smaller than comparable projectors. I think it is best for home use rather than business, because of the number of lumens. But I am very satisfied with it. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

NEC VT47 LCD Projector
Strengths: Large screen considering the distance to the screen. Support 1600 x 1200 (UXGA). Good remote control. 2-year warranty.
Weakness: Somewhat bulky and noisy.
I bought this projector when office depot was clearing out this model. This is somewhat bulky and heavy to carry around (not portable). Comparing with other projector, this has larger screen considering the distance to the screen. This is good or bad because this has a low native resolution (800x600) and big screen means a little more pixelated screen. Another plus is that this projector has a 2-year warranty (90-day Lamp Replacement). It is very easy to remote control.
