Neat Receipts Scanalizer makes life easier

Strengths: small, compact, software is very intuitive. Scan quality is nice.

Weakness: Have had a few receipts not detected from database that were a bit surprising.

Over all Im VERY PLEASED to have this item. I absolutely love the way it will catagorize my receipts.
No longer have to staple a stack of receipts together and save them forever. Simply export to pdf or excel!!! :)

Pretty darned impressive

Strengths: Simple to use, features, Integration with popular acctg programs

Weakness: new 3.0 release is not yet what it was meant to be, but, overall, an impressive upgrade from 2.8

I am in an accounting firm and we reviewed this item for a few customers, and based on just a few weeks worth of uses, it works as advertised, and once properly set up to export to Quickbooks, it does do it, and makes life easier especially when it comes to doing expense sheets.

Scanalizer Handheld Scanner review

Strengths: Ablity to extract characters from Variou receipts, works 99% of the time,Very portable

Weakness: Does not work 1% time due to inablity to read the characters properly

I have been using this product for more than a year and this has saved lot of time for me. I am able to scan all the credit card receipts/Printed version of on-line receipts for airfare/Car rentals etc.

This made my life very easy, no need to fill out weekly expense sheets for my company. Scan all the receipts and at onehit of abutton it creates an excel or Pdf version of all the expenses with all the field populated from a standard template and attaches a scan of all receipts if you choose spreadsheet option. The sacn of the images is added to the second worksheet on the spreadsheet.

At the end of the year you can prepare reports to consolidate all the expenses for a Vendor or by Month or for the expense type.

These are also accepted by IRS.

It does not read the receipt properly if the receipt is not clear or if it is folded. But you have the option of still scanning it and enter the required information manually.

I would recommend this product to any road warrior and is portable to carry it in your computer bag.

neat receipt the greatest

Strengths: Produces great expense reports. Easy to use. Does a pretty good job of analyzing the receipts. Probably hits about 60% recognizing locations, dates, prices, and payment method.

Weakness: Does not import PDF files even though it will export them. That seems pretty stupid. Would be nice if it would import emails too as many of my flight receipts come via email.

Our company uses this product and are pretty happy with the results. Instead of printed documents and paper receipts, we email the entire expense report in neat receipts format to our admin who then turns these into invoices. Neat Receipts is a resource hog, but so long as you have plenty of memory and disk, you should be fine.
