Nice!Strengths: audio quality, inexpensive cost, burn-in prevention features Weakness: adjusting brightness....seemingly all the time i just got this tv a few days ago and am seriously in love. granted, it is quite a step up from my old television, but i couldn't be happier! i've watched a few dvds on it already and am amazed! i'm waiting for the cable company to come hook up our cable upgrade in a couple days. i really want to see what this thing can do, and am considering buying an hd-dvd now! in my opinion, compared with other 50" plasmas, this thing gives you your money's worth! 100% of readers found this review helpful. May 14, 2007 I hate to tell you this, but there is no need for you to buy an HD DVD player or Blu Ray b/c you will not really get the full benefit with your TV. Those players are so "special" because they give full 1080p HD. Your new TV on the other hand on supports 720p and 1080i. You might as well just save your money and buy an upconverting DVD player.

Jun 26, 2007 Disregard nickbl8ke's totally inaccurate information. It will be well worth your money to purchase a blu-ray or hd-dvd player in conjunction with a 768p plasma like this. It's always better to start out with more bits of resolution (1080p source) and scale it down to a lower resolution 768p panel like this one than to start with a lesser resolution (standard dvd) source, then having to upscale it to the higher resolution of that panel. Doing this involves a process of approximating extra detail. That's never as good as starting with lots of detail and going down from there.

Would not recommend the LG 50PC3DStrengths: Good Sound quality. 2 year warranty Weakness: Reds do not appear Red, appear pinkish. Blues do not blue, appear pale My neighbor bought the exact same model 20 days back, his is a Sept 2006 make and has a different software version than the one I have which is Dec 2006 make. There used to be 7 options in the EZ Picture mode, now there are only 5. The brightness just cannot be set, it needs to be changed from channel to channel. Not happy with the TV. Called LG and they said we changed the s/w and that is the reason in color contrast change. The store I bought it from wants a 30% restocking fee to replace it...guess I am stuck with for a few years. Would not recommend the ones makde after Sept 2006. 80% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!
Strengths: The picture on this television is incredible! We can see so much detail - it's extraordinary!
Weakness: Our only problem seems to be that we are turning into couch potatoes!
We love this television! We are football fans and even though our Steelers had a bad season...the TV looked awesome. All of the colors are true and the detail is fabulous! My college aged son and his high tech buddies have declared our TV as their favorite so we've had a full house over every break!
One keen advantage for me is that we bought the television from a local, family owned store. (Shall I plug them? Duvall Television & Appliance in Wheeling, WV). They set up the television and then gave us a lesson in using the TV. They even sent a guy over to retrain me when I monkeyed with the adjustments and he returned it to it's beautiful picture! BUY this television but you better stock the frig and the snack bowl!
