Zonet Zen-3300E Gigabit PCI cardStrengths: works as specified Weakness: none Gigabit PCI card is getting more popular in the consumer market with its frequent use in transferring large audio and video files. Zonet Zen-3300E fits the bill perfectly at the performance of the bigboys' Gigabit cards. Zen-3300E was up running right after I inserted it into a an empty pci slot on my PC. Windows automatically recognized it so there was no need for installing any extra driver. You will notice a big difference in file transferring speed comparing to 10/100Mb cards. Nowadays, all PCs should have a Gigabit ethernet port instead of just a 10/100Mb ethernet port. For copper Gigabit connection, Zen-3300e will get your system up to speed in file transferring without breaking the bank. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Zonet gigabit PCI cardStrengths: price competitive Weakness: not a main stream brand name product Zonet Zen3300E performs comparable to many other main stream brand name gigabit PCI cards. I had it connected to a gigabit switch and it operated smoothly without any problem like the other larger brand name gigabit cards in the network. For frequent fast transferring of large data files gigabit connection is a must have and Zonet Zen3300E makes it affordable for an easy upgrade from 10/100 ethernet connection to gigabit connection. cheap comes at a priceStrengths: n/a Weakness: not recognized by WinXP Pro SP2 This was a very inexpensive card, but cheap comes at a price. I attempted to install this on a WindowsXP Pro SP2 system but found first of all that it would not autodetect the device. I then tried manual installation using the disk, but still did not install. I then downloaded updated drivers from zonet's site still with no solution. The card was getting power but Windows indicated it had "limited or no connectivity". After 3 days of frustration I returned it. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Not a happy camperStrengths: None Weakness: Did not work on my PC Although my PC is fairly old, it still runs pretty well. I decided to upgrade my NIC when I upgraded the OS. My PC did not detect the Zonet card. I installed the driver manually but it still would not work. All in all, I am not satisfied. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Good value
Strengths: Price.
Weakness: GigE pushes the limits of 32-bit PCI.
The Realtek 8169 GigE cards are a great value. Decent performance
for desktop use too. You probably want 64-bit PCI or maybe even PCI
Express for server use though.
